I felt a moment of panic when I read 52 POLY DIS'ers would be at the POLY at the same time...The panic was from the thought "were they going my week?", because it will really be hard to get my requsted longhouse:lmao:

Not that I would not love meeting fellow DIS'ers:rolleyes1:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

So good to know...note to self 1st week in Dec....low crowds but high on DIS'ers at the POLY:goodvibes

So true, I would like to meet other POLY DIS'ers myself. I am just hopeing that we get the room we requested.:rolleyes1 I guess our secret is out about the 1st week of Dec.:scared1: We should start telling everyone that this is not a good week to go.:rotfl::rotfl::lmao::lmao:

Well I'll be there that week too but I'll be staying at WL my other favorite. When I stay at one I miss the other.

12 more days until our Polynesian vacation! I plan to do on-line check-in on Friday if I can request a balcony? Or should I call and have it noted on our reservation? I did our building request already, should I just add the balcony to that?

Unfortunately there is no place to enter that request using online check in. Probably best to call DRC/CRO. Have fun!

Princess K, glad your Polynesian vacation was perfect!:wizard:

We just returned on Saturday from a five night graduation trip to the Poly. I absolutely loved every second of it! I went into the trip with pretty high expectations. I had never stayed in a deluxe resort before, so I expected a lot. The Poly exceeded every one.

We booked club level lagoon view and asked for a 3rd floor balcony. Whenever I found out about theme park view rooms taking up most of the 3rd floor, I was a little worried but decided to just see what happened. We got room 3518, which was the one LV room. Imagine my surprise when I walked in the door and immediately saw the castle. It really was a beautiful view! I honestly am not sure why it isn’t considered theme park view. Another great thing about this room was that it was at the very end of the hall next to an outside stairway. That hallway was so cold, especially after swimming, and it was nice to be able to quickly get in the room!

The club level lounge really was a great convenience. We didn’t use it as much as we would have liked, but when we did, everything was great. Being able to have breakfast in there each morning was a great bonus.

I had read a lot recently about the Poly cast members not being very friendly. I found this to be as far from the truth as possible. Everyone we talked to from the time we got there to the end was very nice. There were several times that they’d see the two of us taking photos of one another and offer to take one of both of us. And anytime we’d walk by a CM, they would always say aloha.

We ate at Kona, the Spirit of Aloha luau, and Captain Cook’s. Kona was probably one of my top two restaurants from the entire trip! I had a lot of reservations with the luau after reading some not very positive reviews online, but it was such a great experience. I had warned my boyfriend that the food may not be as good as he was expecting, but neither one of us could understand where these reviews were coming from. The food was outstanding, and we really enjoyed the show. The fire dancer was amazing! Captain Cook’s was wonderful as well. I discovered a love for dole whip – that stuff is soo good!

We used both the main pool and the quiet pool. The volcano pool was very crowded in the afternoons, so we would usually end up over at the quiet pool. Both were great though!

Now that I’ve rambled forever, thank you to everyone for all of your tips and advice on this thread. We couldn’t decide which resort to stay at, and the last Poly FAQs thread made the decision for us. It ended up being the best decision we made. It is really hard to beat the convenience of the Poly (especially being able to walk to the TTC & take the boat to the MK), and I have a feeling it will be hard for me to ever want to stay anywhere else!

Thanks for your review and glad you had a wonderful stay! :lovestruc

Let me start by saying I'm an equal opportunity Polynesian, but...

I made this thread and forgot about it until I read all the new people coming this week. Just come check in on the thread so we can see how many of us will actually be there during the first week of December!!!

Guess I missed the memo ... I've added us now. So far there's only the two of us. Maybe everyone else cancelled and we'll have the Poly all to ourselves! :lmao:

Nope not just the two of you, its the three of us now, I'm onboard. I think this is a cool way to see who all are going to be at the Poly that week.

Thanks for starting this post PolyndianPrincessJes.:thumbsup2

I completely understand! I want to try other resorts so badly but it looks like we'll be booking the Poly again this fall...and that's NOT a bad thing!!!

Ran out of shampoo this a.m. ... had to break into my stash of h2o shampoo from 08 trip at Poly. Ah, memories! Glad we'll be going back soon so I can stock up again!

Does anyone know if the Poly has the chocolate/chocolate chip muffins with the powdered sugar on top? I was able to get them at the All Star Sports foodcourt in 08', POP didn't have any on my last trip in 09' so I had to make a trip to the Main Street Bakery. Thanks!!

I just got back from a 4 night stay at Sugar Loaf at the Grand Floridian. It was a friend's birthday and she really wanted to stay at the GF. When she napped on Sunday afternoon, I hopped the boat over to the Polynesian. I am taking my disabled mother there in Nov/Dec and wanted to get a resort map and some post cards to wrap up for her to open when I reveal the surprise trip.

I got the resort map from bell services and had a wonderfull informative conversation with a bellman named Ray. He had some great advice for novice scooter drivers. I look forward to seeing Ray in December.

I also dropped into Captain Hooks for a Dole Whip!
