ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

I haven't been in February to the Poly! What should I expect differently, besides weather? Anything different? Are people still active around pool this time of year? I was there this past August.;)

I think it will vary. We were there once in mid Feb and the weather was beautiful and warm enough just about every day for the pool. This year DD and I went for 5 days at the end of Feb/early March and we spent everyday in sweatshirts and jeans and we were still cold

I'm 99% positive it was $2 per wash and $2 per dry. They also had single load wash/dry supplies there for sale if I am recalling correctly for $1 (could have been $2) a piece. The fabric softener they sold though was not the sheet kind, it had to get loaded into the wash (which I didn't realize until after I purchased :headache: ). We brought a roll of quarters with us, but there was a change machine available. :thumbsup2

It is $2 per load

Thank you very much!:flower3:

this is basically a shameless bump to get the Poly thread back on page one, and to do a :cool1::banana::cool1:because I got my yellow luggage tags in the mail today!
Have a wonderful night all!

Thank you very much!:flower3:

Hi, with regards to the laundry, I bought the Purex detergent sheets plus softener today to take with me, light weight and easy to pack. There are lots of great tips on the Tip Board on a packing thread I just read through on there, this was one of them. A box of 25 washes was about $4, I figured it was cheaper then buying the soap there and I can use the left over here at home. Now with the airlines charging for bags, we have to pack lighter and plan on doing a few loads of laundry!

WOOHOO single digit dance!
We leave in one week and arrive at the Poly 8 days from tomorrow! I tried to do online check-in but something is up with the system tonight...it keeps freezing up. Anyway, I AM STOKED!! This will be our first ever on-site stay and my dream stay with everything I've always wanted to include in a disney trip. Happy travelling to those leaving in the next day or two!

I brought the Purex sheets to try last week. They worked great and I was just getting ready to suggest them. LOL

Thank you for the information. I am flying, but my mom and dad are driving. My mom was going to put laundry soap in baggies, but I like the purex sheet idea better. I am going to look for them this weekend.

I will be leaving work in 3 hrs, picking up my son early from school, and then (hopefully) be driving to the world by 1:00. We don't check in to the Poly until tomorrow morning so I guess I will have one more "way too excited to sleep" night! I can't wait to get to Poly. i hope it's everything I've always thought it would be! I'm sure it will be. I will try to figure out how to post pictures when I get back! Thanks to everyone on this thread for keeping me super-excited for the last three months!

We leave in 6 days (with a very full schedule between now and departure!)and I'm not even halfway packed yet. I don't know when I'm going to pack!

We leave on Thursday from Minneapolis and have not started to pack yet. Our flight does not leave until 7pm. (One less day the kids are out of school) Hope to be checked into the Poly by midnight.

I just booked a "Me" only trip for the Poly in November!!!!!:cool1:. Going to leave hubby and the kids home and just pamper myself!

I don't want to be in too remote of a location and have a garden view room. Is there a particular building that I should try to request so I am not so far out by myself???

Thanks!

Yea! I am back in the land of the living!:cool1: My computer crashed the day I got back from the Poly (on Sept 14th) and it is finally fixed! So happy to be back on the Poly board but I have so much catching up to do! Hope everyone that is leaving for their vacations soon has a fabulous trip!:goodvibes

We just passed our 45- day mark! :thumbsup2

I know we still have a ways to go, but this is the first week that our Thanksgiving trip has seemed 'real' to me. Tomorrow will be the 6-week mark.

My busiest work period of the year is over, and now I can finally day-dream about our upcoming vacation!

Leaving 1 week from today! :cool1: But driving and not arriving until 1 week from tomorrow!! :woohoo:

This was supposed to be the big packing weekend, but now is looking more like the big soccer game weekend...so much for my great plans. Also, we are unseasonably warm this week in Indy, so can't really pack all those warm weather clothes until the last minute. And, I still don't know what we are driving next week, definitely not the current old van...could it be the last minute new van or a rental...time will tell...hope I still have hair left by then. :scared1:

I'm so dreaming of surprising the kids with our Poly stay (they think we're going to POR), and enjoying Wishes from the beach on the night we arrive...maybe with a nice big Lapu Lapu!

I finally decided to request 3rd floor Tokelau, but if the Tiki Gods decide to place us elsewhere, I'll be good with it (just not a 2nd floor no balcony room please :worship:).
