ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

I'm sitting at the computer anxiously awaiting 9:35 when I can check-in on SW and get my boarding position. We've never flown SW before, so we're pretty nervous.:surfweb::eek:

I did that also with Delta at 6am. Look at the beautiful counter!!!! So I guess your leaving at 9:35 am. What time are yall arriving in Orlando? Are you taking Magical express?

Zuzu & everyone that had such good thoughts for me and my cat...We put him down yesterday. I am so crushed and I miss his furriness and tale whacking my face in the middle of the night. For those that had some advice, we did tell the kids what was happening (that he was sick and old and this was the best decision we could make for him), they came with us to the vet's, but I did not let them in the room while they were doing the deed. I'm a pretty open mom, but that was something I didn't think they should have to see. My husband stayed with me and we petted him until it was all over. He looked so peaceful.

Thanks for everyone's support and advice. I'm glad I get to plan my trip to Disney and the Poly so it will keep my busy and looking forward to something.

I'm 36 and really healthy (exercise, diet) except for stress at work. A couple years back I went to the ER thinking I was having a heart attack and it turned out to be 'we-don't-know-what-is-wrong-so-it-must-be-nothing'. After talking to some other family members, I believe that particular attack was brought on by RED BULL. Not sure if you drink the stuff, but many people have had symptons like a heart attack on that stuff. Just a fyi (and I drank sugar-free but both have Taurine which hasn't been studied enough to know about it).

Definitely get to your appointment. At the very least, you'll feel better for getting yourself checked out! Good luck!

Have so much fun!!! Make sure to post a review on here when you get back!

I'm so sorry about your baby, I know how difficult it is for your family, but now you can start to heal....
I actually don't drink energy drinks at all, I really just drink water, crystal light, maybe a coke zero, two cups of coffee. I just haven't been myself, my heart is beating out of my chest with little exertion. I do need to stop being so high strung and chill and the poly hopefully will help with that.. Thankyou..

You mentioned in a post that people mistake your husband for Brett Favre, People think my husband looks like John Cena, and me all sorts of people...:lovestruc

Thank you!:thumbsup2

He actually said my blood pressure was to high and he did an EKG and it was extremely fast so until he gets my lab completed, he didn't want me to leave town without anything to control it, so for time being he has me on a beta blocker to slow down my heart rate, He's suppose to call me asap to tell me what else to do, He also said to map out the local healthcare facilities around WDW just in case...LOVELY.. But guess what, I'm still going to Disney and the POLY in less than 8 hours.. My flight is 6am, I really need to rest now!!!

I hope everything works out well for you. I'll say a prayer. Have a safe and magical trip pixiedust:

I hope everything goes OK with the appointment today!! Keep us posted!

Thank you very much for the well wishes! The doc put me on a beta blocker for fast heart rate, high blood pressure and will call me when lab is completed!! I might see you soon, because this little set back isn't going to stop me...:confused3

Dear Lord, Please let me get rest for WDW! He said then turn off the darn computer, so I must Obey! Goodnight and God bless!!

I agree, this thread is amazing! Have a wonderful trip and hopefully the Poly will work its magic on you and restore your health to its proper balance!! Enjoy!!!

Are there lots of seats available to watch the Water Parade and fireworks from the beach? Would we be smart to bring a beach blanket?

The beach seems to get worse every year in terms of how many people show up to watch. If I had to go by the times in the past 4 years that I have been there, I would say to either get there early, or bring a blanket.

We were returning from the TTC last year and Wishes was just ending. The amount of people on the path to the TTC heading towards it was almost shocking. Especially considering the time of year (mid September).

I don't mean to sound like the Poly is overrun, but the "secret" is definitely out, hehe.

Yes, the weekend of the 16th of July it was quite crowded. People were already there snagging chairs at 8:00.

Ok, I know I still have a long way to go but I was thrilled to see that as of today, we only have 125 more days until our trip!:cool1:

What are the best garden view club level rooms to request? I think I'd prefer a balcony, so I'd want third floor, right? I was hoping for something quiet, and I'd prefer privacy over close to the lounge. What should I be requesting?

You have to wonder how many of those people are actually staying at the Poly?

I say we start a petition to make everything at the Poly guest only, meaning, wristbands like at the Yacht and Beach Club, LOL!!! Free the Volcano Pool people, FREE THE VOLCANO POOL! :lmao:

I agree. The rates are too high not to have some exclusivity. On that note, do others feel deluxe resort guests should be granted unlimited use of fastpass lines like at Universal?

All of the club level rooms are in Hawaii so if you want a balcony, I would make third floor your request. I don't think there is a huge difference in view in the garden view rooms.

You can look at the map on tikiman's website for specific room numbers but I think even the lounge end of the third floor is fairly quiet.
