ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

Hi kaffinito. :flower3: I see by your signature that you mixed it up a bit. Can't wait to read your trip report. :surfweb:

We loved the WDW pillows too! So are they still good after a year? Someone posted in another thread that they went flat too quickly. I personally enjoy a flatter pillow anyway.

We haven't quite had them for a year (about 10 months) but so far they're still great! :thumbsup2

It's imperative to double fist it when the lines are so long to get slushies :lmao: I like getting a lemon and an orange one so I can be sure to know which one I like best. :thumbsup2

Why is this the first that I am hearing about these slushies?! Thank heavens for the DIS or I would be deprived of all the good stuff! :lmao:

Subscribing :)

We'll be at WDW for 2 weeks around Thanksgiving and we're starting our trip at the Poly for 3 days.

This is our first Holiday-trip to WDW and my husband's first trip overall. We upgraded for a few days (doing split stay with POR) and I wanted to keep the Poly a secret/surprise for hubby and son, but I just couldn't do it. :goodvibes

We are meeting a bunch of family there so it is kind of a reunion trip and we're very excited!!

Thanks Mrs B! Please, next time just remind me to open the window when I take pictures.:sad2: I'm glad I am not alone about loving the sound of the boats. You are going to have an amazing vacation. It's good to be you right now! :goodvibes

Have a wonderful time! I know you are so excited! :goodvibes

I am by no means an expert, just wanted to wish you happy planning and a great trip.:goodvibes

Hi PolyAddict! I originally booked a GV and requested a balcony room first or patio second. I would love to have a balcony room. Those third floor balcony rooms are highly coveted! :cheer2:

You are probably right about the coffee, I didn't bother to check because I am not a coffee drinker. I am so embarrassed because DH swears that was the best coffee ever, even better than Tim Hortons. He always make me look bad when given the opportunity. :rotfl: Seriously, I was telling everyone about this Kona coffee in the lounge. Thanks for letting me know, now I get to burst his bubble and inform him that he was drinking Nescafe. The same awful Nescafe, he cant stand anywhere else.

Happy Labor Day and Poly Dreams to everyone! :cloud9:

I just came back to this thread and found your response...it is tooo funny:rotfl2: I swear i was going to change my reservation just to have KONA coffee down the hall...instead i will just buy it each morning.

Hi Everyone!!

Ive been following this thread for months now and I don't have the time to catch up on here like I used (stupid wedding planning getting in the way of disney time :rotfl:)

But it's almost here!! This time next week i'll be a Mrs. and one week tomorrow till we check in at AKL for one night and then off to the Poly for a week in a GV CL room!! :lovestruc

Ive always visited the Poly since I was a little girl so this really is a dream come true for me...I am a bit worried about some peoples reviews but everyone has their own opinions - what one may find dirty, outdated, poor service another may have an excellent experience!

Either way im sure it will be a magical trip - and it is my hubbys first ever Disney experience so here's hoping I get him hooked on the Poly!! :rolleyes1

You and your soon-to-be DH sound like DH and I 2 years ago! Except in our case, I was the one who hadn't had a Disney experience (at least not in 2 decades) and DH was a Disney pro. Regardless, the Poly was the perfect place for us - it is a fantastic honeymoon destination! You get the luxury and beauty of the resort (and the little extras that come with staying CL!) plus the fun of the parks. You're going to have a great trip!

Congratulations. I hope you make many happy memories on your first trip to the Polynesian. :wizard:

Exactly! Hi Tess...how are things? :wave2: How was your Polynesian vacation?

It was terrific--perfect weather and totally relaxing. There's a review on here somewhere. We're headed back for F&W in 19 days, but no Polynesian stay for us this trip--totally an EPCOT focused stay from BC.

How are you doing BCV--haven't seen you in a while?

Explain to me the Dole Whip so I'll know what I'll be trying in a few short weeks!

Well "hi" back! I see you are mixing it up a lot on your next one! :goodvibes

Hi Polynesian friends. :grouphug: Haven't been on here much but I'm getting excited about our next Polynesian stay in less than a month. 4 nights at the Polynesian then 5 at BCV and 3 at SSR. Can't wait to hear that music and inhale the aroma of the lobby. Ah!!! It will be our 30 something stay there. :cool1:

Hi BCV!! Great to "see" you! Have a wonderful time on your trip! :sunny:

Congrats on your upcoming wedding! :bride: :groom: You will have a great time, the Polynesian is a beautiful resort, and the location can't be beat. I hope that your DH gets hooked!

Does anyone know what type of pillow the CL rooms have? Are they the gel pillows as well? I love them and want to make sure to order the right ones. :cloud9:

I always pack the last day too. ;)

I'm a last-minute packer, too. :cool2:

thanks for the info on the gel pillows! I think I'll have to order one of those.

BTW...here's a picture of me with a Grey Goose Grand Marnier Slushie:

Oooohhh I wish I had one of those right now! 8 days until Epcot... maybe I can wait that long ;)

You can get the slushies at the kiosk in France. There are three types, but the most popular seem to be the Grand Marnier orange and the Grey Goose Lemon slushies. Personally, I like the Grey Goose best, but can't say I dislike the others. You really need to put these on that drinking schedule. :cool1:

Thanks Tess, I saw Samantha Brown have the Grand Marnier one, looked yummy, got those scheduled in to the drinking itinerary!

I have never posted a message here before so this is kind of a test. I am enjoying reading about everyone's Poly experiences while I wait impatiently for my upcoming trip.
