ALOHA! The Poly FAQ: Fall 2010 Edition

In just 52 days we arrive for our very first Poly stay! I've been dreaming of that day since my first trip as a kid in 1975, each of my 20 trips I would look at the Poly and think "I'm going to stay there one day!" It's so exciting! Plus, that leaves just 2 resorts until I've met my goal of staying at all of the WDW resorts.

I know how you feel! Forunately work is keeping us so busy that it's flying.:yay::yay::yay::yay:

Congrats! I am checking out the day you get here :sad1: but I am moving over to BLT for the rest of our trip so at least we will still be at Disney. I hope your wait flies by

Tomorrow tomorrow I'll be at the Poly tomorrow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The kids are better, but wouldn't you know it Saturday my 10 year old fell from a tree. He has been having headaches that come and go when he plays hard. I took him in yesterday and the Dr. just said if it gets worse or doesn't continue to get better to call and they'll set him up for a CT scan. :confused3 I am hoping he doesn't have any today. He has to go help mow the lawn this morning, so it will be a good test to see how he does. Thankfully my Mom can always take him for the CT scan if need be and we are only 2 1/2 hours away.

It's like God doesn't want me to have a vacation. :scared1:

How long is the walk from the Poly to GF?

How fast do you walk? J/K We took a leisurely stroll (at least for us) with the kids one night and it was 10 minutes (Hawaii to GF side entrance) give or take a couple. The walk really isn't far at all.

It's official!

We're going to the Poly THIS MONTH! AAAAAH!!!!

:banana::banana::banana::banana::banana::banana:

And a :cool1: for good measure! :laughing:

I need to get my fill of the boards today since tomorrow marks the end of my slow season at work. :sad1: Why slow season can't coincide with my anniversary, and thus my vacations, I'll never know...:confused3

;)

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:
:woohoo::woohoo::woohoo:
:yay::yay::yay:

27 and 1/2 hours....until I am officially on vacation (3pm tomorrow)

29 hours....until we leave for Buffalo

43 hours....until our flight leaves

45 1/2 hours...until we land in Orlando

47 hours...until WE ARRIVE AT THE POLY!!

Not like I'm keeping track :rolleyes1

I wish I didn't have to work tomorrow, because I have so much to do!!
- need to pack my checked bags, toiletries and carry on (yes I'm a delinquint DISer, I haven't packed anything yet :lmao:)
- need to print all confirmations, itinerary, club level letter, and SWA boarding passes (loving Early Bird Check-in!)
- need to do homework for my GMAT prep (I'm SO not doing math homework at Disney :scared1:)

I think I'm going to go listen to the music on tikiman's site and finalize my packing list (thankfully, most of my work is done :thumbsup2)

hey Missoutandabout, how did you get your lime green Polynesian Mickey head? :idea: I clicked on it and I was not sent anywhere, :confused3 so did you do it yourself? Would you then graciously make one for me ? :worship: Please, please, please?

Beaucoup de poussière de fée,
Cilvy

Yes, that was created with my very unprofessional Photoshopping skills. :thumbsup2 Thought I'd go for a more Poly-friendly look with my Mickey Head. Send me a message with your email address and I'll send you one.

EDIT: By the way, I'm soooooo excited for everyone who's about to go! :D

It's September!!! To all those going soon, have fun!

I had read on the "Spring Thread" that the East pool would be closing for rehab. Does anyone know when this rehab is scheduled for?

Tikiman's site has some information about the pool rehab but I don't think anything is confirmed or official yet. The rumor is that it will be during January but it's only a rumor.

So yesterday I had to pick up DS and take him to hospital, today it is DD..LOL I feel like there is not enough of me! Im worried about strep with DD she keeps complaining about her throat..

Thank God I have a three day weekend coming up, then three more work days then ILL BE ON VACATION!!!

We will be staying at the Poly in November. I first time there! I was wondering if there are any activities at the pool or beach for the kids? I read about movies and a campfire on the beach? Can anyone tell me more about this?
Thanks!

Kristin

I'm hoping that someone cancels their 'Ohana breakfast Oct 2....I think it would be a fun way to end the trip. Fingers crossed!

Yes, there are pool/beach games & activities. When you check in you should get a recreation schedule with the times listed (usually mid-afternoon) and things are posted by the pool.

The movie schedule will also be posted on a sign by the volcano pool. They are held I think 4 nights/week on the beach between the Poly & GF (closer to the GF). They have a bonfire pit & have music/dancing & marshmallow toasting before the movie, which is shown on a big inflatable screen. They sell marshmallows & s'more kits at the campfire site (I think it's around $7 for a s'more kit, but it comes with a lot of stuff - it will feed several people)

We'll be there in November too. Happy planning!
