Allowed to take ME to resort other than my own?

We haven't used Magical Express before & I have a question. I am flying in a few days after my family. We are staying at Pop and that is printed on my ME vouchers. Is it permissible to be dropped off by ME at the Contemporary instead of Pop? I'm meeting them for lunch and this would be save me some transportation steps & time since I don't need to check-in, etc. at the Pop.

No you can only go to the resort that you have a reservation for.

Tozzie is correct.

DME is a function of resort reservations, and they are strict with it. If they weren't, they'd be running a lot more buses to the Deluxe resorts adjacent to all the parks except Animal Kingdom, since a lot of people would do what you are hoping to do.

There's a tiny chance that you could get extremely lucky and that your DME bus heading to Pop might also include one of the monorail resorts or Wilderness Lodge (WL has a boat to Contemporary). It's an unlikely grouping of resorts on that bus, but anything is possible.

What I'm trying to say is that you can't get on a bus other than one going to the resort where you're named on the reservation. But once you are on that bus, there's nothing stopping you from getting off at a different stop than your own.

Yep...as noted, unless the resort you want to go to is already on your particular resort's route, you can't do it. You will have to go to your resort, then take a bus to the MK and then either walk over to the CR or take the monorail.

not sure how your ressie is, but you may need to stop at your home resort to pick up key to the kingdom/tix/meal plan/etc...
