Allowed to substitute appetizer for dessert?

Does anyone know if Disney allows an appetizer (ie, salad) to be substituted for a dessert on the DDP? I am not a big dessert eater, but always have a salad with dinner.

Disney does not permit substitutions for dessert for any reason.Including medical ones. Fresh fruit is generally available at most places in lieu of a sweet dessert.

No, it's never permitted, not even for medical reasons. But as the previous poster said, you can ask for fruit or an alternative dessert. Doesn't help you get that salad without paying for it though.
