Alligators?

We are heading down to WDW in September and had wanted to visit Gatorland. I'm thinking that if there are some alligators around WDW, we may be able to skip this trip off site.

I think I read somewhere that there is one at a dock somewhere. Does anyone know if there are any around the World?

We've seen them at Fort Wilderness; maybe that's what you're thinking of?

They are out there - heck, they even find their way into backyard swimming pools. LOL. BUT, I wouldn't put my faith in seeing one. It's hit or miss.

We have been to WDW dozens of times and never seen one. It could happen, but don't bet on it.

We usually see one every visit at Shades of Green in one of the ponds..... we see it when we are walking from Shades of Green to the Poly, but we walk that path a lot and usually only see it a couple of times tops each trip.

and we saw a couple different alligators in the lake. They aren't of much size but alligators none the less. We saw them most days we were there.

Yikes! I'd run the other direction screaming if I saw an alligator at Disney! I'm terrified of the 'gators.

In any case seeing a gator randomly sunbathing while you're walking by and going to Gatorland are very different experiences. Gatorland is the 7th circle of hell (to me, like I said, hate gators), but if you have kids that like wildlife, they would probably really like it. There are hundreds of gators, they do feeding shows, stunts, alligator wrestling and have a swamp walk so you can see them in thier natural habitat.

OT: I've been to PEI once on vacation, inspired by the gorgeous setting in the AoGG movies that I loved as child. We had a wondeful time travelling all over the Island. You are a lucky lady Enjoy your trip.

You can find gators on the side of the roads (hanging out in the drainage ditches) all over WDW property, in the lake around Tom Sawyer's Island at MK, in Bay Lake, heck, they even found one in a restroom at MK after hours - poor cleaning crew, and poor alligator!

Yep I've seen many gators all over disney never in bathroom tho lol

There is at least one in the lake in the center of CSR. We saw it several days in a row going to the pool area. YUCK!
