I tend to have allergies all year round - but the spring and fall kick my butt - with fall being *the worst*.

And this morning I woke up to that fall allergy feeling. Blah!

Does anyone remember Seldane? I know it was causing deaths, but MAN did that stuff work GOOD!

Seldane, gone 11 years now and terribly missed whenever Fall arrives. Nothing works for me like Seldane did.

Agreed. My asthma will start from an allergy flare up.

Seldane was the ONLY antihistamine that - not only stopped the stuffies, sneezies and watering eyes - but also stopped my asthma from starting up.

I wish they could have just taken out the death causing agents in the pill, and re-marketed it. ;)

My allergy season hasn't stopped in over a year with all the weird weather.

My allergies are worst in the Winter when all of the polen has fallen off the trees and other plants and spreading through the air. I'm also allergic to dust. Not a very fun combination for me.:sad2: So I can sympathise with you a little. Also I have no clue what Seldane is.

I feel your pain. I also have year round allergies. The last couple of days, however, they have been especially bad. In fact, I'm going to the doc in the box this afternoon just to make sure that it's only allergies and not something that I should be keeping away from my pregnant wife.

I recommend asking your doctor for medication. It helps a lot.:thumbsup2

Well, I was on Allegra, then Zyrtec - the Zyrtec went OTC. And maybe it's just me - maybe it's just in my head - but I don't feel like it works the same. :confused3

I take Singulair for asthma (which some say helps allergies, too - but I never experience that) and OTC Zyrtec. But I actually picked up those quick dissolving Alavert (3 boxes of them!) on clearance at CVS for $1.50. :thumbsup2

But time will tell if they were worth $1.50. :lmao:

Yep my allergies kicked in this week as well. I also remember Seldane, the best!!! Allegra, Claritin, Clarinex, Veramyst, you name it I have tried it and none of it works. Singulair helps the chest tightness but nothing helps those itchy eyes.

My ENT gave me Clarinex before my sinus surgery, it was ok.

I have to agree once Zyrtec went OTC there was a big change in how effective it was for me.:sad2:

Allegra, useless.

It's Ragweed season, ugh!:yay:Oh joy, not...
Zyrtec works ok for me for otc, but for itchy eyes, Pataday (prescription) is the BEST for itchy eyes! (eyedrops)
:hug:to all allergy sufferers!

.

Good! Not good it doesn't work, but good I wasn't losing my mind about it not working.

I seriously thought it was another Seldane....not *quite* as good, but darn close.

I got my initial RX for Zyrtec mayyyyybe 4 or so months before it went OTC. So, I didn't get to reap the benefits for very long. :guilty:

I believe that the dosage was decreased on zyrtec when it went over the counter. Please check on that, so perhaps that is why it isn' as effective.
