As far as I know, the dining plan still includes a dessert with both the CS and TS meals. Unfortunately, my Fi (but DH by the time we're on our disneymoon!! :) ) is both wheat and lactose intolerant (and allergic to oats on top of that) which basically eliminates like 95% of desserts.

Does anyone know if there is some way we can substitute his dessert for something else, like maybe extra snack credits or something, because of his allergies? Will they typically be able to provide gluten/lactose/oat free desserts if not?

Thanks!!!

Substituting for snack credits is usually not possible, however, I too have allergies. You can simply call Disney Dining, and they will work with you on whatever dessert can be prepared for him. They are really helpful. They have my allergies noted on my reservation, and I have the direct number to call to speak with the chef.

My niece (lactose intollerant) had Rice Dream icecream, Tofutti icecream, Divvies chocolate chip cookies and a Gluten and dairy free brownie.

They can also give him a bowl of fruit for his dessert.

Just make sure you let them know when you book your ADR's and again when you check in at the restaurant.

The chef's are amazing at WDW, I'm sure they will come up with something he can eat.

Wow--I didn't realize they were so accommodating, that's really good to know! I really never would have expected tofutti and rice dream to be available!

Some TS places had both others just had one. Tofutti-chocolate and vanilla, Rice Dream-Vanilla (might have chocolate) My niece just tried the vanilla so I'm not sure if chocolate is available anywhere.

At the CS places it will be harder to get dessert. I usually shared a CS meal in the parks with her so I ate the dessert and she had a treat from her bag. She had a few pkgs of the chocolate chip cookies saved up from other meals. At the resort they have more selection for dessert for the CS.

Head over to the DisAbilities Board and there is a form to fill out with all your ADR's so the chefs will know a head of time about his allergies.

The food courts at the resorts have Silk Soy milk in regular and chocolate. At Sci-Fi we were told they had Vanilla, but can't confirm as it was in a cup when served.

I wish Almond milk were available. DD can't have soy either, and she can't have rice cream (rice ice cream) because she's milk protein intolerant, and there's whey in it. Disney always takes care of her at the TS - just the CS is trickier.

My DH is allergic to coconut. Last year I really really wanted to go to the O'hana character breakfast at the Poly. I knew that this could be a problem considering they use coconut in a lot of their food. We asked our waiter which items contained coconut and he said hold on i'll check. He came back with the chef. He was very very nice. He brought my husband substitute food to replace anything that had coconut at no charge.

We went in Dec and most places gave us the French Meadow Bakery brownie, or toffuti. Brown Derby had a mango sorbet with berries and Beirgarten had a gelatin with berries. We had something everywhere we went.

I posted pictures of all our gluten free dairy free food here:
