Allergies in Pet Friendly Resort

No, I know that there are true service dogs that can be at any resort. That's not what I was talking about.

But if you are allergic what is the difference? Any room could have had a dog before you. You can still be allergic to a true service dog, right? You should be proactive if it’s an issue

I have a friend with a true small service dog who could have been held as you mentioned. depending on if she could get dog where she wouldn't have been stepped on dog could have been on her lap. dog's job was to alert on medical condition

The dog i mentioned was in no danger of being stepped on. They forgot it’s do not pet me harness/vest too

those are not required and my friend doesn't use one either. followed her into a store once when someone was upset because pets aren't allowed and that person very upset when manger who knew them told him that dog was allowed in no matter what he said

It sounded that the original poster made an assumption that people don't know that , yes, there are service dogs, and yes, that they can be in every resort. It sounded like talking down to me, but whatever, nothing to get ruffled about.

There are a lot of people who don’t in fact realize that service dogs can be in any hotel or resort, not just pet friendly ones. The OP was concerned and considering changing because they were booked for a pet friendly resort, so reminding them and everyone that service animals are allowed in any was in fact a good - and possibly necessary - reminder. It would be awful to be that allergic and think you were safe because you didn’t book a pet friendly resort only to be given a room a service animal had vacated that morning.
