Allegiant Airlines

Do you get a parachute in addition to the one personal item??? I mean after their own mechanics say you are crazy to fly this airline that doesn't bother you???

Have you noticed that since the pilots and mechanics got a new contract (and presumably better pay/benefits) that the grumbling to the media seems to have stopped?!?!
...or maybe there is just a non-disclosure clause in the new collective agreement...who knows...

When the relatively high rate of aborted takeoffs and emergency landings goes down to below average for the rest of the airline industry I would consider flying them.

Just flew them and was 45 minutes late taking off on the way down and 40 minutes late taking off on the way back. I guess I won't complain, as with one over head bag for 1 and 2 personal under the seats, our two tickets round trip cost $110. I doubt I will use them for my whole family. SW has delayed us too, but not every time. Last time, got us there early. It was truly budget, and the fact that they didn't even have free water, was kinda surprising. Oh well, if I needed cheap, and was not concerned about time, maybe I'd use them again.

For us, it really doesn't matter. Adding up their little charges, plus rental car from Sanford (or Clearwater or Punta Gorda) usually comes in about the same as taking another airline. The big advantage is a non-stop flight. The big disadvantage is flexibility of schedule. We've experienced no more delays or cancellations with them than any other airline.

Article in today's Washington Post about Allegiant, their aging fleet, and the large number of maintenance/safety issues they have had - far more than airlines with significantly more planes in the air. Might be worth a read for those interested or on the fence about using them...

They have been upgrading and modernizing their whole fleet by transitioning over to Airbus 319's and 320's from the older MD80 series that they originally were flying.
In fact, they just signed a contract in July to purchase 12 brand new A320's so we should be seeing a lot less mechanical issues in the future

They will have less mechanical failures when they take safety seriously. Their CEO obviously doesn't take safety seriously. When his last airline had a major crash he simply sold it off to AirTran and started a new company "Allegiant".

Why are people allowed by the FAA to act so irresponsibly???

Since Allegiant flies so many people to Las Vegas their slogan should be... "Why wait until you get to Las Vegas to start gambling... With Allegiant the gambling starts as soon as we close the airplane door"

I had a strange Vegas experience when landing a few years ago. Allegiant instructed the passengers to open up the overhead vents.... It felt like being asked to let the air out of plane for the pilot to land....

Was told later this was to help keep the plane cool when it was hot outside the airport. Don't remember being asked to do this with other airlines. I guess they didn't get good air conditioners on the planes.

According to the Washington Post article, between Jan 1 2015 and end of March 2016 Allegiant's 30 Airbus 319's had 5 unscheduled landings (presumably for problems in the air), 2 aborted takeoffs, and 1 emergency landing. For the same time period, Delta's 126 Airbus's had 1 unscheduled landing, no aborted takeoffs, and no emergency landings. If you look at the MD80's it's even worse.... in one year, ONE Allegiant MD80 had almost as many incidents as the entire Delta MD80 fleet.

The article was pretty eye opening. If I HAD to be somewhere, don't think there's any way I'd risk a flight on Allegiant...

My husband is a pilot and said that he has heard where Alligent has the worse maintence records. Against my advise my sister flew them into Tampa last summer while I flew SWA for only $29 more than she paid. Well she ended up being at the airport for 9 hrs. Did not get into Tampa till 1 a.m. and then drove to Disney. She said she would never fly them again. Her plane as having trouble holding pressurization. The window in the row ahead of her was cracked.

If you read the Washington Post, you might consider changing that to "With Allegiant the gambling starts as soon as we try to close the airplane door" :D

Even when you decided to take a fly with the Allegiant Airlines then you have the only option to contact the Allegiant Air Phone Number 1 800 854 7418 to book the flight tickets. You can check the flight status and all by dialing the Allegiant Air Phone Number.

OMG I can't believe I posted this two years ago and it appeared again! OP here and I can say never ever ever would we fly Allegiant again!

My son had horrible delay in December 2017. We saw the 60 Minutes report and I would not fly and don't recommend flying.

Ugg, Allegiant, I'll never fly them again either. That 60 Minutes report was scary. It came out a couple days before my flight and I didn't watch it till after my plane landed. I felt like I was on an old bus, but we didn't have any problems, and we were on time.

If you approach to book the cheap flight tickets then you move to the Allegiant Air Phone Number 1 800 854 7418 to check the flight's rates. You can easily choose the best flight as suitable for you and book.

Haven't a clue what your post means, it makes no sense but as far as I'm concerned the best flight is any flight that isn't Allegiant.
