Hi, just booked Allegiant again. Don’t use them often.

DH qualifies for & has used the free baggage perk in the past

I thot it was 2 ckd bags, a carryon & personal item

That’s generally plenty for the two of us and much appreciated!

This trip have other non-dependent family booked on our reservation.

I googled and saw varying info as to whether the spouse (me) would also be entitled to the above…2 checked, 1 Carry on & a personal item

Anyone know for sure?

I thought my friend said it was it was just for the qualified person. Her and her husband bring 2 checked and on carry on total when they come here.

It’s the very last paragraph of the below that seems vague to me…

The usage of ‘spouses and dependents MAY QUALIFY for the same benefits only if traveling on the same itinerary’

If so, is that an automatic yes or not? Have been holding for a chat With them for an hour

Free services offered for active duty, reserve duty, and veteran members of the U.S. Army, Marine Corps., Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, Public Health Service Commissioned Corps., National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s Officer Corps., with valid identification:

  • Up to two (2) pieces of checked baggage. Each bag must weigh under 100 lbs.
  • No charge for oversize checked baggage. Maximum size is 115 linear inches in height + width + length.
  • One (1) carry-on bag within Allegiant size limits.
  • One (1) personal item within Allegiant size limits.
  • Free boarding pass printing at the airport.
  • Up to one (1) pet in cabin.
  • Spouses and dependents may qualify for the same benefits only if traveling on the same itinerary with the eligible military traveler.

Mystery solved, finally got thru on chat…

the spouse (or other dependents on the same itinerary) are only eligible for the same baggage allowance as the veteran IF they have their own military ID as proof.

So in other words only those who are current/former military qualify for free services? Why did they word it so cryptically? The wording posted above from their website sounds like it was written by someone who didn't understand how it works.

Oh, thank you for that lol. I was thinking I was just being dense about it. I agree 100%, worded so unclear.

Not that I don’t appreciate them offering it to all veterans, don’t have to be retired or active…just have a DL indicating vet status or a honorable discharge DD214.

spouses & dependents with military ID cards also do qualify.

I had to laugh at the checked bags allowable weight of up to 99#. Trust me, I do tend to stuff them, often over their #40 standard
