Anyone ever fly with them??? What was your experience. We can get a flight out on 11/24 for 59.00 Should we go for it?

Just returned from trip-flew Allegiant from Springfield, MO to Orlando Sanford. Found it to be exactly what was stated. No frills, good friendly service--no problems. I am not a seasoned flier, however, someone in our group who has flown several airlines--inlcuding some smaller ones said it was great. (said it beat American Eagle by far). Our jet was an MD 80 something with about 150 passengers I think. Both legs were almost full. It was a 2 seat on one side, 3 on the other. Had no problems getting all of our party seats together, even though we didnt pay the extra to reserve certain seats.

Flew into Orlando Sanford which seemed to be a great little airport. Very easy in and out of, very easy to get and return rental--absolutely no problems there. It is a little futher out than the big Orlando airport but not by much. I didnt realize how far out the big Orlando airport was. very easy comute to and from Orlando via the toll road. Booked a rental when we bougth tickets and found that to be very reasonable. Got to go and look and have our pick at a van.

I would definitely do this airline again--no problems what so ever. Cant say I just love flying, but it beats the heck out of driving that far.

Just wondering for anyone who used them, the web site states you pay for your drink and snack. If so do you remember what it was?

I'd like any info on them as well. I've heard good things so far. We got a great fare out of Portsmouth, NH for January. $39 each way. Maine :firefight

The sodas and snacks we're around $1.50-$2.00/ea. They had several snack choices (chips, beef jerkey, candy, etc).

Please post a review when you get back!! Would love to hear how it goes. I'm a little leary of going to Portsmouth after PanAm canceled my flights and I didn't get my refund for 10 weeks, when they said it would only be 7-10 business days. Even then, I had to threaten to call the local news stations before I got it.

Cheers!

We fly with small airlines all the time, depending on what time of day it is, we bring a snack with us. It's really a short flight from Stewart, only about 2 1/2 hours. Just pick something up and carry it on.

The Sanford Airport is a great airport, small and convenient, the rental car's are right outside the door.

I am from Maine too and am interested to hear how your flight from Portsmouth goes mtdevine615... Michelle
on a side note Jen - my best friend waited 10-11 weeks for her Pan Am refund and DID go to the local news here with her story...

Jen H, the same thing happened to us with Pan Am. It was so unfortuante that they ran into all those union issues. I loved flying Pan Am and especially loved flying out of Portsmouth to Sanford. I, too, am real curious to learn of people's experiences with Allegiant Air. It would be so convenient to fly out of Portsmouth again. Keep us posted, mtdevine615.

FYI for the Maineiacs on this thread. I know some might say booking with Delta right now is just asking for trouble, but I just booked with them for me and my nephew for June. I've booked all my flights with them, except the last one, the prices lately were crazy. For June, it was $226 out of Portland. Not great, but not too bad for PWM.

Hey Jen - I got an awesome deal last year in June with Delta out of PWM $129.30 each altho i was org. supposed to be to Tampa there were engine trouble so I booked it back down to the Delta counter and got on a flight to Orlando (saving me a car rental!!) I have flown delta from MHT too. I do like them - I have a credit burning a hole in my pocket right now with them so trying to find another great deal!!

Jen, I was just looking at Allegiant for our trip at the end of April beginning of May and right now they're $59 each way for the times we're looking at. I think I'm going to wait until after we get back before I book, to make sure everything goes okay. But that would only be $ 236 roundtrip for the two of us. That's almost 50% less than Delta and it's nonstop. Wish I had more confidence but after Pan-Am, I'm a little nervous.
