I am considering flying with this company for our Oct trip and would like personal feedback. The flight will be about 500.00 cheaper even with everything added on (trip flex, bags, seating assigments etc). Only draw back I see is not in the airlines itself..it is the 1 hr trip to that specific airport on this end and figuring out transportation from Sanford to WDW on that end. I see that there is also a section on Allegants site for a "Promo Code". Has anyone ever used one, where did you find it and what was it good for? There Oct prices have not been posted so my "figuring out prices" is from the lastest August fares. How do they seem to run in Oct? I know...sorry...a bunch of questions!! We live just outside Toronto and did the 4hr and a bit drive to Youngstown, OH and flew Allegiant to St. Petersburgh/Clearwater airport. Fares were $44 one way and we paod a total of $496 during March break for 4 tickets. From Toronto we would have paid easily $2500 or more with taxes which are ridiculous out of Canada. The airport was a breeze through security in 15 mins and flight left on time both ways and was actually a bit early arriving. The key is we took carry on luggage since we had a vacation home rental for the week anyhow with washer and dryer so we didn't get dinged with extra fees. We just got 4 seats at the airport as well so no extra fees there either. I would definitely fly Allegiant again and now they fly out of Niagara Falls, NY airport which is only 1 hr away. We also found a good deal with Alamo on a last minue rental from St. Pete's airport. Just to give you an idea if you booked a compact today for Feb 4 - 11th it would be $84.12 at MCO versus $123.72 at SFB using Costco ID 7014627 and E-Coupon AD2359FDF for $35 off so not a huge difference. Definitely worth the savings!

Ooohhh...I'd love to know about any Allegient promo codes too! We're looking at flying with them this Oct too!

My mom has a friend that works for Allegiant in Youngstown. We flew them last year to St. Pete. We loved it and had no issues. As far as discounts go, my mom asked her friend ic they had any promos. She was told not really. She said they don't even really get any deals as employees. I wouldn't hold out for a promo. I will say if the airport is close to you, can save money by booking at the airport. I think it was $15 a person cheaper if you went to the airport counter to book.

I've used Allegiant a few times (when they flew directly into MCO). They were fine for a no frills carrier. Not much service but worth it for the cheap fares (I flew for as low as $19.99 each way once!)

I've never seen a promo code for Allegiant in all my years flying with them, and I'm a bargain hunter.

As far as October from our airport, Allegiant had fewer flights than in summer, in past years. But it will depend how the market is in your area. We only had flights to FL 3 days a week, and returning 3 days. Not 6-7 days a week like in summer. That makes it risky for us, if there's bad weather or a cancellation, they have no agreements with other airlines to get you there. You'd have to wait until the next Allegiant flight, which in our case could be days.

As someone else said, you can purchase the tickets at the airport for $15 less.

I have had nothing but excellent flights with Allegiant. I've always spent extra to reserve a specific seat. It's no-frills, but they do have fun things sometimes. Like on a Vegas trip, they did little gambling games that were fun. But you bring on your own food/drink, so don't be surprised if the people next to you are eating a full pizza with pizza box and all!

I have flown Allegiant out of Greensboro NC. Was very easy. I purchesed 3 of our tickets over the phone as I had several questions. Later we added the fourth person, and I drove to the airport in Greensboro to get that ticket. Find out what time the counter will begin selling tickets before going. We had to wait 2 hours to purchase the ticket after we got there.

boarding was easy. The staff were great. Mom preboarded in a wheelchair. One person go to preboard and stay with her at all times. The 15 yearold preboarded with mom. This was a Mom Daughter long weekend My best friend and I decided we would rather that than Margan maybe having to sit with a stranger. As it turned out The stafflped us find seats two rows behing mom and Morgan. The wheelchair was gate checked at no cost to us. In Sanford, the chair was waiting when we walked off the plane.

I know the attendant checked with Morgan and Mom maybe 2 or 3 times during the flight and the flight is just over an hour long for us.

I have friends that fly out of Roanoke and they all feel the same. Only problem...they dont fly everyday out of airports near us.

Make sure that you're figuring the cost of ground transportation from Sanford to your hotel -- especially if you are staying at a Disney resort. ME is free, a rental car is not. Rental cars are the best option at Sanford.

We flew Allegiant a couple of times when they flew from Lansing to Sanford. Everything went fine and I had no complaints. They then pulled out of Lansing and went to Grand Rapids. They had some real problems in their first winter at Grand Rapids -- lots of snow caused scheduling problems and people were not happy. They do not have sharing agreements with any other airlines and their schedule is rather limited. For example, they might fly out of your airport on Thursdays and Saturdays. If you have a Thursday flight that is cancelled, you may be out of luck. That shouldn't happen in October, but . . . Just go into it with eyes wide open.

Thank you to everyone for their input. I have read all the pros and cons. It looks like (for Aug anyways) they fly on Sat, Mon and Sunday. I am a tad bit hesitant about having a problem and not having the back up of alot of flights incase there is a problem. I think by April the October flights should be posted and we will decide from there the best rate with all the extra costs of parking our car at the airport, and transportation from sanford to the resort hotel.
