Just wondering if anyone has taken this itinerary or flew with this airline in the past?

We would be driving from Nova Scotia so we'd like to know what we're getting into before we make the big "airfare" decision. The prices are very tempting and we're fine with flying into Sanford rather than MCO. The other option we're looking at is out of Boston. Unless of course something drastic changes with local canadian carries. I'd much rather the 45 minute drive to Halifax than 9 hours to NH...

Also, we're not going until next March but want to book as soon as the fare come out. Is that wise? My worse fear is we book and then they cancel the flight or change it to another day.

Any advice?

We'll be flying out of Portsmouth in June. I don't have a lot of info for you now, but I can fill you in after we get back! We got our flights for $59 US each way. It was too good a deal to pass up. There's free parking right at the terminal, too. There are several nice (yet affordable) hotels in the Portsmouth area if you'd rather stay over a night on either end of your vacation before driving back to Nova Scotia. Send me a PM if you have any other questions. I might not know the answer, but I can try to help! :)

A few other options to look at:

Southwest out of Manchester, NH
JetBlue is now flying out of Portland Maine

I, too, was going to suggest what Chip-n-Dale did. Look at JetBlue out of Portland. They are just starting service there. It will save you driving time as it is much closer to you and very reasonable in prices, along with the tvs onboard. As an alternative look at Manchester. Great fares, non-stops, etc coming from there and save you the hassle of going into Logan and paying the parking rates there. Manchester is cheaper. I think parking is free in Portsmouth for Allegiant, but be careful, they don't have flights everyday. I have heard good things about pretty much getting out of your car and walking up the planes, but have not personally done it. I would prefer to be flown into MCO, but that is me. Good luck deciding.

We flew Allegiant Air in January and I have nothing but good things to say about them. Parking is free in Portsmouth and the airports there and in Sanford are small and easy to get around in. However I would wait and see what Jetblue is going to be out of Portland.
