All You Need is The Force, Trust and Pixie Dust! A May 2014 TR -- Updated 11/20

I totally had a brain fart and forgot that we ran into each other at the bus stop. Dee dee dee!

I agree, it wasn't as crowded at that time as I thought it was going to be.

We saw that Cinderella too!

As per usual, Franklin's fireworks photos do not disappoint. :thumbsup2

It was so great to meet Franklin. You are so right his pictures are amazing. I need to get me a better camera :rotfl:

Amazing pictures!! Obviously! Lol.

Looks like you guys had a blast at the 24 hr event...yes...enjoy our meal at bog....that's totally what happened..... :faint:

DEAD. We were waiting for over 1.5 hrs on the bridge....our server came out to get us....and the restaurant was practically empty.... sad days

Can't wait to read more!!

Love your costumes!

As for fireworks, I hope to try a different area next month. I liked Franklin's shots overlooking Ariel/Under the Sea, but the latest views over the 7DMT sign are great too. Hmmnnn, too many decisions.

Looking forward to your next update.

Great update. Yay for Franklin ' s arrival. Love your dining choices. Cute idea for Disney bounding. Where did you find his goggles?

I like watching the fireworks explode over the Beast's castle.

Thanks! I got Franklin's goggles on Etsy, lots of cute steam-punk-type stuff on there.

It was a looooong day for you, the brain fart is understandable. ;)

What a great start to your day together. Completely love your outfits too.

Your meal at beaches looked great, I could devour those onion rings right now. Think I'm in the minority on not liking BoG. I'm glad I've seen it, but didn't find the food good enough to bring me back (though the beer and wine in MK keeps tugging at my heart strings). Though I didn't have that lamb ; )

The fireworks and all the photos for the day are beautiful. I'm married to quiet the photog too, I can barely operate 90% of his equipment but all their efforts are well worth it.

Now that I have an option I like other than steak, I'm much happier returning to BOG. I liked the steak, but I'm not always in the mood for steak at Disney. I tried the pork once and really wasn't impressed. But the lamb is worth trying again!

Another photog bride! I'm good at watching the equipment, but that's pretty much where my photography skills end. :lmao:

Hello! I'm enjoying your trip report a lot. The pictures are gorgeous, but of course you already knew that :thumbsup2

I'm really liking reading about your 24 hour day experience. We were also there for the 24 hour day (I was dressed as Donald Duck in case you saw me). It was really a fantastic experience and I wish they'd do them more often.

So excited to see what you do during the nighttime hours!!

Thank you! The 24-hour party was a lot of fun, sounds like you had a good time too!

Your 24-hour day experience is off to a great start!! Looks like a delicious dinner, so fun to have a random DISmeet, and of course the fireworks photos are spectacular!! :goodvibes

A great start indeed, thanks!

Loved the update!!!

It is so nice to have the two of you back together again.

As much fun as solo time is (and I am counting on it being fun), there is nothing like being at Disney with your soulmate! Who appears to be a DISmeet-magnet so far.

Very cute costumes! I love the simplicity.

The timing of this update is perfect, as I approach my very first steps into New Fantastyland, the Mine Train and Be Our Guest next week. :cool1: I haven't even looked at the lunch menu for BOG in ages, so I need to do that.

I love to see all of the new places you two try for viewing fireworks- and I am curious about where (and how many times) you will watch the Frozen version.

;)

You will have so much fun during your solo time. I also think you need to stop by the Tambu Loounge at the Poly for a snack one day and get the 'Ohana bread pudding.

Oh my goodness, I was swamped at work the day Disney announced the Frozen fireworks. As soon as I got home, I pulled up our August plan and started throwing everything overboard to add more time at DHS.

I *think* we'll see the Frozen fireworks three times while we're there in August. But who knows? That number may go up (and I can pretty much guarantee there will be tears).

Glad you two lovebirds together again:goodvibes
No matter how many times I see Franklin's fireworks photos they still amaze me :thumbsup2 Seriously brilliant job!!
Love the look of BOG. Just curious, does the Beast visit all the tables? As a mum to one wee boy who only like to see characters from a distance even though he is now 7yrs and assures me "it's not cause I'm ascared" (yes I know there's no such word as "ascared" unless you are from here) :lmao: I had thought that you kind of queued up to visit the Beast but now I'm not so sure?

Woohoo Dee are you doing a park visit now on your solo trip? You have no idea how much I would to be there (or maybe you do lol);)

Beast doesn't visit individual tables at BOG, he walks into each dining room, waves his hand to "greet" his guests. He then entertains everyone in his study, you can stop by for a M&G once you've finished your meal. Your son should be just fine if he only wants to wave to the Beast from afar!

It was so great to meet Franklin. You are so right his pictures are amazing. I need to get me a better camera :rotfl:

I wish it were just the camera. Sadly, when I use Franklin's camera, it looks like I'm walking through an earthquake. :rotfl:

Amazing pictures!! Obviously! Lol.

How did I not know you waited 1.5 HOURS for dinner?!?!? Fingers crossed Sci-Fi goes better the night of the villains party.

Love your costumes!

Thank you! The Ariel spot is pretty stellar. You're right, it's such a hard decision. It almost feels easier when you're traveling with people who don't often go to Disney (like we are in August), then we kinda have to watch from our go-to spot on Main Street. Gotta show our guests the classics!

I love to see you and Franklin reunited and how perfect are those fireworks shots!

Your Disneybound idea was perfect :) I saw your pic on FB and was like "Now why does Franklin have those steampunk goggles on his head. They must be up to something" ;)

Yay for being back together! I really did enjoy your photos, but whoa, those firework photos. If Disney is not paying him for those 7DMT shots, they are losing out!

I love Wall-E! Great Disney Bounding! I am still putting the final touches on the outfits for September. Got to have something to tweak to make the next 31 days go by!

Can't wait to hear how the late night went!

yeah for being reunited! Great Disney Bounding (though I probably wouldn't have guessed Wall-E if you hadn't told me as I was too focused on the cool Dole Whip t-shirt ;) )

your meal looks really good! Glad you enjoyed it though it still catches me a bit off guard when someone orders a beer inside the Magic Kingdom

Great firework pictures (not surprisingly of course) ... though you should have asked Disney to turn off the standby wait sign for the mine train so you didn't have that big glow in the middle of the shots ;)

Really enjoyed(ing) this trip report!
Missy, where did you get your Mickey necklace I see in your most recent photos? it's darling ::MinnieMo::MickeyMo

I LOVE you and Franklin's photos from BOG (and Franklin has some pretty spiffy steampunk goggles that the's rockin).

I haven't watched fireworks from anywhere besides the hub but your pics from New Fantasyland are awesome! Maybe we'll get adventurous and watch 'em from somewhere else.

Yay for the reunion!

One day I will have that shrimp and scallops dish at Be Our Guest. It looks so delectable!

Franklin, I love seeing fireworks pictures from different locations. I admit I usually scroll through fireworks photos really quickly because once you've seen one, you've seen them all in a way. However, different locations really make it exciting once again!

I hope one of your FP+ reservation for 7DMT is at night, it's a totally different ride when the sun goes down!
Thanks for the tip. We'll add a nighttime fp for it when we are there in October. :thumbsup2

We have BIG plans for exploring WL in December. We've never set foot in there, which saddens me greatly because it looks so beautiful! There will be pictures, LOTS of them. But you'll have to wait until December.
I can't wait to see the pictures of the WL. There are so many interesting things to take pictures of. It is one place at WDW where even I will take pictures. :upsidedow

We’d requested to be seated in the West Wing and our request was granted! Why do we like the West Wing so much? Well, first of all, it is SO MUCH QUIETER than the ballroom. It’s also a more cozy room and actually feels romantic.
We've eaten lunch in this room and it is very dark. I'm surprised that the pictures are so clear. Did Franklin use a flash?

Franklin returned and set up shop in front of Mine Train for Wishes. He wanted to work MK’s newest attraction as the frame for his fireworks shots.

I love the way the colors really show up in these pictures. Did you notice how the fireworks made these long tube-like shapes in this picture?

That’s where we’ll leave off for now. The fireworks may be over, but our night is just getting started! But first, have any of you staked out new fireworks spots in New Fantasyland?

The fireworks were going off as we were exiting the Ariel ride, and it wasn't too bad of a view. :)

Hi, Missy!

I've been following along on FB, but finally made it over to comment. I'm embarrassed to admit I've been a lurker on your TRs for quite a while, but I'm breaking out of my DIS shell to say how much I've enjoyed following your adventures to the World. Franklin's photos are incredible. What a talent he's got!

I also love that WDW is such a special place for your trips together. I just returned from a trip with my DBF, who was a first-timer, and I can only hope that it becomes a place he wants to visit over and over. Here's hoping for DVC membership in our future!

Looks like Be Our Guest was the perfect kickoff to your night. We sat in the West Wing last week, too, and I was thrilled with it, as I'd only been in the ballroom prior to this trip.

Looking forward to your night at MK!

Hi friends! Franklin and I are about to set off on another Disney adventure. This one includes our first stay at the Grand Floridian, Villains Unleashed, Frozen Summer Fun and all the food porn you could ever hope to ingest.

If you'd like to follow our trip live, just like our Disney Facebook page, the link is below!

The World of Yesterday, Tomorrow and Fantasy

Talk to you all very soon!

Have a brilliant time Missy and Franklin :goodvibes
Cant wait to read along (and gaze longingly at Franklin's stunning photographs as always :3dglasses).

Finally catching back up on the DIS today. So glad you two got reunited! Love seeing Franklin's awesome firework photos. That was also a great Disney Bounding outfits you both had on! One of these days I'll make it over to BOG, it always looks so wonderful in pictures but I'm sure it is nothing like actually being there to experience it :thumbsup2

Fantastic fireworks pictures!!! And what a great vantage point!

I love the necklace you're wearing! And I've been reading so much lately about this Disney bounding thing. I really need to look into it because it sounds like fun!

Hi Missy! Joining in from our Facebook group! Going to go back and read now :goodvibes

Welcome back friends! We last left off with Wishes from Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. It was a beautiful show and it was a great spot from which to watch the fireworks. As Franklin was breaking down the tripod, I got a text from Danielle. She and her parents wanted to know if we wanted to meet up for a ride or two. Of course we did! It felt like most of the crowds seemed to be moving toward Tomorrowland, so we headed for a Fantasyland classic, instead.

“It’s a small world, after all…”

Now, the real question was: Could we get all five of us in a boat selfie? Why yes, yes we could!

Um, I think one of the dolls escaped.

DSC_5894-L.jpg

They keep replacing the regular dolls with the creepier-looking, more-static dolls. Like these clowns.

The line for Cinderella’s carriage wasn’t too long, so we hopped in.

Group shot! How cute are Danielle, Jackie and Papadon’s costumes?!?!?

i-ffp9VPt-L.jpg

They had FP+ reservations to use and we had a date with Main Street Electrical Parade, so we parted ways (for now). Franklin and I had booked a FP+ reservation for the parade (figuring it was going to be a crowded night -- we guessed correctly, the FP+ reservation kept us from feeling like sardines!).

DSC_5912-L.jpg

There was a special villains “pre-show” before the parade and my favorite Lady Tremaine was part of it!

Danielle texted us after the parade and said her parents were going back to the resort, so we met up with her to hang out in the park. Franklin and I had a return time from my DAS at Mine Train. It was time for Franklin to see the dwarfs!

I couldn’t believe how much cooler the ride was at night! The coaster part in the dark was really fun and the cottage scene is so much better after dark (you can actually see into the cottage!) Franklin really loved it, but was already plotting for how he could take the photos better the next time. I thought he was nuts considering his dwarfs photos had faces and mine didn’t, but he is the perfectionist photographer after all.

It was still REALLY warm out, it was time for an ice water break. Off to Pecos Bill we went!

DSC_6096-L.jpg

While we took a lovely water/air conditioning break, we pulled out our phones to consult the shiny new My Disney Experience app to figure out which character meet and greets we wanted to hit next (Hades and Meg were out, people getting in line were told it would be a four-hour wait to see them -- no thanks!). What did Disney’s magical new app tell us?

DSC_6093-L.jpg

Let’s take a closer look, what does that say?

IMG_20140524_003007-L.jpg

Ah, I see. The app was trying to tell us that even though the park was open for another five hours, the characters had all gone to sleep for the night. Helpful app, that one. Since we were over in that neighborhood, we decided it was time for a night time Jungle Cruise.

We grooved along with the villains preshow again as we made our way through the Frontierland crowd.

The posted wait time for Jungle Cruise was 20 minutes, we only really waited about 15.

That's where we'll leave off for now. But first, SDMT and Jungle Cruise are two of rides that are totally different at night. What are your favorite night time rides?
