I needed new front brakes two weeks ago. Would rather spend my money on a vacation. Oh well. Don't you hate waiting in those places? The smell gets me nauseous

Speaking of cars...any ideas where the best place is to buy a used car? Or how not to get taken for a ride? Looking for a used car for PK for college but I don't know where to start and don't have a lot of money to spend -- max $6-$7k. Any suggestions on what are good used cars? Never done this before.

Thanks! Hoping all the Hurricane Sandy cars are long gone. Saw so many horror stories on the TV about people getting stuck with cars that had been trashed by the insurance companies and then someone was reselling them.

I hear ya....usually, good (and safe) deals could be found if you concentrate on an elderly person's car being sold....they are [for the most part] one-owner deals and typically have lower mileage....
