Aarrgghh. I just bought 165 points at VGC less than 2 weeks ago and could have saved another $2 per point with this incentive.

If you watched the webcast, call your guide and ask them to re-do the contract if you just signed and sent back the paperwork.

We did that last year. The incentives changed for the better between signing but before we closed and we re-did the deal.

DVC is usually pretty good about doing this! Good luck!

For those who wish to become members (as opposed to those who are adding on), the incentives were in line with what others have reported (i.e., AKV 200 points+, $15 off the $112 per point).

The Guide I spoke with said that the DVC folks had been told that there would be a price increase on 1 July. He did say, if I wasn't ready to close, I could pay a bit on the downpayment ($500) by 30 June to lock in the rate/incentives until I was ready for the closing (I won't have the downpayment for closing until mid/late July).

Has anyone else heard this or is this one of the "selling strategies"? In other words, should I view this as typical sales pressure (and yes, he was very pleasant but sales is sales) or is an increase probable? If so, are we looking at a big jump or just a dollar or two a point?

I saw the webcast at 8:30pm Eastern last night and only saw the BLT incentives. Since I was only interested in adding on 50pts, there's nothing in it for me. Maybe I missed the others on screen (I was doing other stuff while listening & watching). What made me laugh is the guy they called "dennis" also does some car/motocycle insurance ads around here.

I was thinking about adding on 125 points at AKV, but wanted to wait until after I watched the webcast in hopes of a better price. DVCNews has this for the price: $112 base price less $15 promotional discount; 125+ points and the webcast is $112 base - 125Pts - $15 Per Point... what am I missing here?

Talked to my guide this morning about adding on 100 pts at VGC. She said that there will be a price increase for VGC on July 1st. It'll be $120/pt instead of the current $112/pt.

Thanks for verifying. I really did think it was a valid point rather than mere "sales pressure" based on the high opinion everyone here seems to have for the Guides and Disney's "low key" approach but just wanted a bit of reassurance.

I will say I am impressed with my Guide so far. Had some questions and he replied almost immediately. I was also impressed that he answered the questions only and did not do an "oh by the way, remember the points will go up in July" or other "pitch". I do like sales professionals who treat me with courtesy and respect as opposed to the high pressure types that seem to think I can't remember what they told me if they don't repeat ad nauseum.

Getting closer to a decision, I think. Thanks for all the information. You'all do a fantastic job of helping future members via your discussions.

You didn't miss anything! There was no additional incentive for AKV. I was bummed because we are looking to add on the exact same as you: 125 at AKV. I tried to talk DH into VGC since we love it, it's probably close to selling out, and it had better incentives. But he's set on Ak (which is probably sensible since we visit WDW more often).

Thanks for the information! I had the webcast on also but was only listening and missed the offer. Staying at WDW now and went to the BLT presentation. The same offer is being provided to members who are staying on property now until their check-out date.
