So glad you met up with Brenda with the added bonus of Emily in California. I obviously don't have to tell you how amazing they are. They really do make you feel like you've known them for a lifetime. It's kind of the thing to do in
Disneyland too, the prime meet and greet.
I'll tell you Dave, I kind of wish the night time shows at Disney weren't as good as they are so I could feel ok missing them. But, alas I can't. It feels like such a bad use of time to spend just finding a spot and then waiting. But as God as my witness, it is always worth it.
My feeling on WoC was identical. Lots of rave reviews, but every video I saw looked meh. What's the big deal? If there is one show where seeing it in person is critical, it's this one. Because nothing will prepare you for it. Nothing. The Pirates section (which I'm glad to hear remains) blew my socks off.
I hear ya. Carving out previous time to stake out good viewing spots for fireworks and shows can be quite stressful knowing that you could be doing other fun things instead. WoC was definitely worth it. Boo to You, Wishes, and Hallowishes are all worth it too. Beyond that? Maybe not so much.

But I would like to try to watch Festival of the Lion King from the first row seats one of these days. Hmmm, maybe I should add that to my October wish list.
Yes, it was wonderful getting to spend time with Brenda and Emily! Hoping to see them again soon.
So glad you met Brenda and Em. Your world of color photos are beautiful.
Thank you!
Hi Dave! Pardon my tardiness! I received the bat signal from Rob.
I have to say that as many times as I've been to DCA and seen WoC I have never seen it so magnificently as your photos! Just amazing.

My favorite part is the Pirates segment but I'm sure that's due to the pyro effects. The entire show is so well done. I'm glad that you hung in there and enjoyed the show.
I particularly love the shot of the golden zephyr swing in motion.
Thanks again for inviting us to have dinner with you and your family. It was a special treat! You DD was adorable when she asked if we'd vacation with your family some time. Of course we'd love to as well. Too cute!
You sure it wasn't the Mickey-Ears-Signal?
Thanks again for the kind words about the pictures! The Golden Zephyr photo gives me a chuckle every time I look at it because the woman sitting in the back row appears as though she's giving me the look "Why are you taking our picture?" Either that or she's feeling a bit queasy.
Hope we get to see each other soon! Maybe in WDW? I may also be visiting San Diego in May for a conference and if I do you can bet there will be a side trip up to DLR
Great updates. I'm glad that your DS was brave enough to try TOT... just too bad he didn't want to go again with you.
The Pixar parade looks like a really good one. I'm looking forward to seeing it. I'm glad the information from the CM didn't steer you wrong.
And World of Color. Wow. Great pictures. Sounds like a real headache. I knew they had FP, but I didn't realize how difficult it was to get in there. We might have to look into one of the dinner packages or something too. Either way I know this is definitely something we have to see!
Had some really good info and tips from the CMs on this trip. Can't say that's been the norm from our previous Disney trips.
I would definitely recommend the dining package for WoC. They had a separate viewing area for the Carthay package and another one for Ariel's Grotto/Trattoria. We did the Carthay package and our viewing area looked pretty solid from any location. Don't know about Ariel's/Trattoria viewing area. In the general FP viewing areas, I can definitely see certain spots being not as ideal. But yes, absolutely worth the wait! And I'm not the usual type to stake out spots for show viewing so far in advance.
What a great mini-TR Dave! Awesome that you got to meet up with Brenda and Emily ... that must be very cool to just instantly being able to gush about Disney with a (in person) stranger and it not be weird
Seeing WoC is definitely on my bucket list - while your pictures are great I am sure they don't do the show justice
It was so much fun with them. Yep, instantly start gabbing about Disney with someone meeting for the first time. Only on DIS
I have to do my comments in two parts. I worked last night and I'm still a bit sleep deprived.
Your DS really IS the man for conquering his first time on ToT! Way to GO!!!!
That Monsters Inc. ride is just too cute. I've seen pictures of it before and its something I really want to ride myself.
I love the parade. How great that you were able to see Crush and then sneak right out the back in time to get fabulous pictures. I love all your pics!
That parade was so photogenic! I'm going to guess based on what I've seen so far that the new Festival of Fantasy parade is going to be just as fun to photograph in October.
WOW! What a wonderful, busy, fun filled day.
I have heard over and over again that WOC is amazing. I enjoyed your pictures and hope to see it for myself someday.
Love that you had dinner with Brenda and Em. How lovely!
And I can't believe you drove to San Diego that evening. I guess if you had stayed at DL another night it would have been really hard to tear the kids away the next morning!
That was exactly my reason for driving down that night!

It wasn't so much for the kids but for me. I knew that if I woke up the next morning at Paradise Pier Hotel I would have a hard time not going to Disneyland.
