I just read a review of Keys Tour and it said they had headsets! This is great as we plan on doing this tour in February. Is this always now a given? Are all the tours going towards this?

you use to get a guide (real person) for the tours!!!

I think I would preferred a real person - not a tape.

sorry!

We did the KTK in Ocotber and our someone asked about that on our tour (becuase they saw another tour using them)! Our guide Heather told us that Disney is experimenting using the headsets to see if they can help save a tour guides voice, help tour goers hear better, feed them information on various rides (while riding i.e. Haunted Mansion), etc. At that time Heather told us only the last tour of the day was using the headsets.

oh - so there is still a "tour guide" with you...they just speak into a mic or something and you, wearing the headset, hear it betteR?

pretty dang cool.

of course - I hope these headsets have mickey ears attached...otherwise you'd look silly.

;)

The first tour to use them was "Wild by Design" at the AK. They are wonderful. As a couple who has gone on most of the tours a couple of times each, the headsets are the greatest. You can be in front or behind the tour director and hear what they are saying. Without them you end up missing info and everyone needs to stand close to the tour director to hear.

After each tour when they ask you to do a info summary to see how they did , we have mentioned that all of the tours need them. I have written to Disney about this also. there are no tapes. The tour guide talks into a microphone and the people just have earphones. They cannot talk back to the guide. the are really cool and really enhance a tour.

Yes, I also read about them being able to make comments into your headsets during rides. I really like that!

I just tried to book and was told they haven't priced out 2005 tours yet and I can't book. Guess this means they're raising the price! ::yes::
I'd pay a few dollars more to be able to get a tour with the headsets so I could hear.

I was going to book the Keys 9:30 tour. I think this is the latest tour they offer?

Yes 9:30 is the last tour! I hope you and your husband enjoy the tour as much as we did:)

Hey scoutsmom99!

Did you do the 9:30 tour and have headsets? I know you did the tour in October, while the review I read was from July.

We used them in May during the AK Wild by Design tour. I believe the only tour that used them. They were GREAT. We didn't use them until the park was open to the public. Then as people wandered around the tour guide could speak only to us about the park. I think using them while the parks are open is a great addition to the tours.

Hello lenshanem ,

No we did the 9:00 tour (I wanted to do the 9:30, but it was nice to get into the MK with barley anyone in there to get some nice pictures). While on the tour we crossed paths with the other tours and we saw the 9:30 tour as they were entering the HM and we were leaving the HM and they had the headsets. I wish we would have had them it would have been great to hear everything about the HM while we were on it instead of trying to remember it! We really didn't have any trouble hearing our guide while we were in the park she usually pulled us all aside to talk and we were out of the shade and able to sit quite often.

I also used them on the Wild by Design tour, they were wonderful. I have done most of the tours and the headsets were great. I love to take pictures and it allowed me to wander a bit and still keep in touch and listen to the tourguide. Great idea.

I agree it would have been nice to have the headsets on the KTTKT. Our guide was Rae and she was wonderful. Really good voice for a tour guide, she told us to look for certain things om the HM and said she would hollow to us when we where in there. WE were some of the unlucky ones to sit farest away from her and did not hear her in the HM. Yes it would have been great to use them in the HM.
