All these yard sale posts...

There are several threads about yard sales here and on the budhet board. Now that spring is here, what are yard sales like in your area?

Around here, yard sales are held on Saturday morning, usually 8 am to noon/1/2/ p.m. Early birds are out by 7.

I see some Disers talk about 2 and three day sales. I can't imagnine that! What's the norm where you are?

I haven't yard saled much. The last one I had, it was going to be three days to get rid of a bunch of stuff. I lasted 2 days. It was really hot and by the late afternoon on the second day, I was giving things away. Seriously, giving things away. People could not believe it. Oh, they'd buy it for a $1, but to actually just take it? They had a hard time with. I just did not want to take it all back inside.

I go out garage saling with my Mom every Friday while my kids are in school. I found 2 Disney store dresses this week. They're short sleave with a collar. One is a Pink dress with Cinderella and the other is blue with Ariel. They both look brand new and were $2.50 each. I also bought a clay vase made by a local artist. The person selling it had bought it for $25 and still had the "story" card behind the piece. It was made by pressing different leaves in to the clay before firing it. I just loved it. It cost $2. Oh and I bought some Mary Kay make-up from a lady that is selling off her stock. Foundation for $2, skin cleanser for $1 and lipstick for $1.

Garage sales around here are usually Fri/Sat from about 8 or 9 to 3pm. Occassionally someone will have a sale on Thur. I hope to have a sale this year. Either in June or Sept. I made about $300 on my last garage sale.
