It seems that every review of OKW comments on how large and spread out it is.Can someone compare it to POR for me. POR also has the same reputation and I don't find the walks there very long at all :confused3 Dh and I are marathon runners and the kids are 10 and 11 so I'm not expecting any difficulty. ( Just hate to deal with suprises on vacation ):rolleyes1

just go to google or windows live and look at the two resorts. Personally, I think Cornando is worse then either of those two.

OKW is set up like a community - it's called Conch Flats. There are four different neighborhoods and five bus stops. You can catch a bus anywhere in the resort and get a ride to the Hospitality House.

Caribbean beach is probably the most spread out of them all, amazes me how it can be classed as a mod compared with the other two mods which are both loads better.

While my poor 3 to 4 10-minute miles don't compare to a marathon, I LOVE OKW. You can hit a path back behind the South Point units and wind back through to SSR. I have never had any problems with the layout of OKW. We stayed at SP, which was pretty far from the main building, but it was still only a 10 - 15 minute stroll. DD, who is 4, had no problems with the walk at all. If it's raining, you can hop a bus, which will take you to the main building.

I've never stayed at PO, but have been to CS and agree with the previous post. CS seems more spread out to me.

Enjoy your stay at OKW. If you're looking for a relaxing stay, you've found the right place. I like OKW more and more each time we visit and could spend the entire stay just relaxing there. The tennis courts are nice, they have a workout facility that's small, but nice. Just a lovely resort overall.

It's set up WAY better than all the other dvc's IMO.... it's spread out, but there are numerous bus stops, so you actually can catch the bus very close to your room, where the others I've noticed,it seems that people on the far side of the dvc resort have to walk a million miles to get to the ONE, extremely far away from any rooms bus stop. I consider that a major flaw in all the newer built DVC's.....
It actually seems that all the dvc's are spread out, but I dislike all the corridors and elevators- to me a brisk walk in the open air is no issue at all,but winding my way through long halls, lobbies, and elevators is a real drag.....and I'm no marathon runner!:lmao:

We stayed a night at PORR last year and I found it more of a walk to the food area than any place we stayed at OKW over the last 9 years. Maybe because I was not familiar with the layout it just seemed that way but I do find OKW less confusing.
