All the princesses are getting new looks.. is this Ariel's new look?

I know all the princesses are getting make overs..
So far I've been a little disappointed, but won't make up my mind complete until I see them in person..

She wears the blue dress when she has no voice, best I can recall.

My guess on the updates is they were sorely needed. I personally think the dresses were looking tired and worn. The new designs are fresh and regal looking. I like them.

I completely agree. I haven't seen many of the new outfits, but I saw Belle's on another site, and I love her new ballgown. Less cartoonish in my opinion and much more elegant.

Rumor has it her new dress will be pink because that is what she is wearing in all the updated Princess merchandise. If I remember right, isn't the pink dress the one she was wearing when they first dressed her up for dinner in the castle? I like the green one she has now in the parks, and the little girls matching version is gorgous. DD got it at the BB last year, and it may be one of my favorite princess dresses she has ever gotten (and we've been through a lot of princess dresses!). I think the pink one looks too much like Sleeping Beauty's dress.

I don't think Disney liked that Ariel glitter pin too much. We found them at our Disney outlet on clearance for $1.49.

We've seen Cinderella in person and we like her update. The wig is a little iffy (doesn't seem to stay on straight), but the dress is really pretty. Haven't seen the others in person, but in photos I hate the Belle update. The dress is too pale and make the pictures from ETWB that I have seen look completely washed out. I think the dress is totally the wrong color and the hair is all wrong too. I may be in the minority, but I actually like the Sleeping Beauty update. I think the dress is softer and prettier, and I think the hair is a more natural color.

Do the new dresses look as cheap in person as they appear in photos? In all of the pics that I have seen it looks like the new dresses use much cheaper and less royal looking fabrics. I have not been impressed with the dresses or new hairstyles of Cinderella, Aurora or Belle. The new Ariel does look like it has some good potential though.

I just happen to have watched it again last night! She wears a pink dress to dinner the first night in Prince Eric's castle, and the following day, he takes her on a tour of his kingdom and she wears the blue dress.

I love the green dress they've had her in though (that never makes an appearance in the movie). I love the color with her gorgeous red hair! I hope they keep it.

I'm not sure if I'm going to like this dress... The off the shoulder look, just reminds me of Esmeralda..

I hope we don't see the same problems with Ariel as we did with Esmeralda

Well, the green dress was never represented in the movie, so at least we don't have to worry about it losing its authenticity. Maybe I'll actually like this one?

You know, looking at it closer, I think it is the same dress just a different color. I've noticed most of the dolls on sale at target and Walmart have had her in the pink dress too if she didn't have her tail. I hope the pink wasn't well received and they have decided to change it back to green!

CRT, Akershus and Ariel's Grotto (restaurant) at DCA. Probably occasionally in random appearances at Epcot as well.

Doesn't she wear the blue dress on land, when she has feet? I can't remember, it's been so long since I've seen the movie.

I'm not a huge fan of the princess updates. It's Bratz meets Disney Princess.

Yes she does... And guests have begged for years for Disney to do a M&G with Ariel in that dress..

I think the main reason they don't do that one , is its not "princess" enough..

I just don't see why they don't pick from from little mermaid 2..

This is what Ive seen as on tumblr as of today. Looks like a pretty blue for the look of the animated version, I'm hoping that it looks better with no blue background behind it. I do wish they would just keep her old dress, I really like it. And no, she never wears either style of her blue/green ish dress in the movie. She has her slinky blue dress at the very end, her wedding, her pink one, and one that's very similar to Briar Rose's dress.
