First, let me say that one of my biggest pet peeves is when someone parks in those lined sections at the end of rows in parking lots, you know, the place where you are NOT supposed to park. So, we took my grandma to Sam's Club today and we parked in the handicapped space closest to the entrance because my grandma can't walk distances and needs a wheelchair when she goes places that she needs to walk far. We came out of Sam's Club and there is a car parked in the lined space right next to our van. I had to squeeze in between our van and the car so that I could start the car. When the people that the car belonged to came out of the store, my mom said to me, loud enough for them to hear, "Move out of the way so that the people can get out of the space that they are not supposed to park in." ( YEAH, go mom!! HEHE). I just shook my head.

And then we were coming home and the roads were a little slippy (actually a lot slippy) at this particular exit. Cars were slipping and sliding all over the place, especially this one car in particular. That car hit us. So my mom pulled over and she rolled down the window motioning for that idiot to pull over. I get very nervous and anxious when I am in the car and the roads are slippery or its raining really hard or something (I was in a bus wreck a few years ago and ever since then I've been like that). I was like shaking and ready to cry because I was so nervous. Anyways, that guy waved at my mom as he passed and kept driving. We couldn't see his liscence plate and he disappeared because we couldn't pull back out until like a gazillion cars passed us. Luckily, there isn't a mark on the van and noone got hurt. That car hit right where my brother was sitting. We think it bounced off the rubber/plastic or whatever it is.

People are just idiots when it comes to driving. Some other car pulled out in front of a truck earlier. I didn't see any wrecks, although I don't know how some people avoided them. There were just so many people who didn't know how to drive out today. GEEEZZ, where do they come from? They must be in hibernation in the summer and when the bad weather comes, so do they. :confused3

This is one of the main reasons we put the wheelchair lift in the back of our van instead of on the side. Can't tell you the number of times we've seen idiots parked in those "no parking" areas between handicapped parking spaces. I'll also echo "Yeah go Mom" but unfortunately the type of people who do this are also the type of people who don't get embarassed or even feel guilty about it.

We had snow and slickness the other day. We even saw a police car fishtail towards a line of cars in front of the school. After watching a bunch of almost accidents I told DD that snow brings out the stupid in people.

I thought all the jerks were down here in Miami. We've had 3 cars turn from the middle lane when we were in the right lane turning. Had people park in the lift area for the handicapped spots all the time. Fortunately my lift is in the back.

Slippy. :rotfl2: Now I know you and I live in the same area!

I'm sorry you had such a rough day on the roads. We were out during that mess this afternoon too and people were driving like morons. Unbelievable.

My favorite saying when I see a lot of bad drivers out and about is "I see that everyone took their stupid pill today."

agnes!

That's why we have a rear lift to. This way we don't have to worry about all those let's use Grandma's pass during the holidays people that think anything blue is there's to park in.

LOL. I didn't realize Slippy was a Pittsburgh thing until I saw that "You know you're from...when..." thread. I just always thought everyone said Slippy. LOL. Thats about the only Pittsburgh thing I say. LOL. It happened at that exit by Robinson Town Center right by Ikea. I'm sure any Pittsburghers know how many people go up there on the weekends. There were cars going in every direction, sliding all over.

Where I live there is a four way stop visible from my front porch. You would not BELIEVE how many people blow that stop sign. I'm not kidding when I say the vast majority do not stop at ALL! It's so rare to see someone come to a complete stop at that intersection. It's a wonder more people don't wreck there daily. It drives me nuts. I so wish I knew a policeman that I could tip off to sit there and rack up the tickets.

The people here also drive like total idiots. I think in the past 5 years it has gotten worse. We have a close call every single time we go out, and I'm not exaggerating. From people running lights, not stopping at stop signs, cutting us off, TAILGATING, they do it all.

My husband wants to build a "tank" car for tailgaters. He has these huge dreams of making it filled with cement and steel so that he could slam on his brakes for those jerks and let them realize why tailgating is dangerous. They make me so mad!

I wonder if the "park in the lined spot" is a regional thing, because I've NEVER seen someone parked in those spots around here. Or it could be that our cops are ticket happy and people are just too afraid of a $200 ticket to take the chance. :teeth:

I don't think people who slide around on wet/snowy roads are automaticly bad/stupid drivers, sometimes the car is just going to go where it wants to no matter what you do. The people who speed along as if the road is as dry as a bone are the ones I want to kill. Just because you have 4WD and CAN to 50 MHP, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

I agree totally, but the reason I say the guy is a jerk is that he didn't even pull over. What if my brother, who was sitting right where he hit, had gotten hurt? What if our car had some damage done to it? Luckily, neither of those things had happened, but what if they did. He would never have known. It just makes me so angry that I know better than a LOT of people and I DON'T EVEN DRIVE!!
