I have read some good stuff about this Disney hotel, but has anyone ever stayed here and can give me some pointers on perhaps the size of the rooms and what the overal service is like.

The All Stars Resort is actually made up of three resorts - All Star Sports, AS Music and AS Movies - each with their own brand of the All Star theming.

They are big and brash and great fun! If you're after some Disney theming, then you won't find much more than at these resorts, but they are non genteel, high-class resorts. We've stayed in the Movies section and loved it, but I think I may have been a bit taken aback by the (literally) larger than life icons around the resort if I hadn't known what I was letting myself in for. IMHO from the moment you drive under the gigantic gold star at the resort entrance, you're in for a great Disney time, but don't expect peace and quiet!

For more info about room sizes, etc., try this link: All Stars

We stayed in ASMo (Toy Story) section and loved it :)

Rooms were standard American size ( bit smaller than other WDW resort hotels) but adequate ( 2 double beds, bathroom, TV, small table & chairs, drawers and hanging space)

Mousekeeping were fantastic - each day DD1's toys were arranged somewhere in the room.

There is a good, varied food court but no full service restaurant.

DD1's fave thing was the Fantasia pool :D

I have stayed in Music and Sports and love them. We had heard the rooms were small but they were big enough for a family of 4 for 3 weeks. We didnt spend much time in the rooms anyway.

I absolutely love the All Stars. I chose it mainly because of the food court plenty of reasonably priced choice for my fussy kids, I especially liked the roast dinner (bit odd served on a papaer plate though.) And the free refill mugs were well worth the money for a 2 week stay.

We had no problem with noise, both times we were near the back of the hotel, great for access to the car and a five minute walk to the food court and busses.

I've read complaints of lack of theming at ASSports, but being British I rather liked seeing baseball bats and American Football helmets all around.

The first time we went the kids were 4 and 7 and it was perfect. Last year the kids were 8 and 11 and although the accommodation was big enough I found it a little more stressful being in 1 room.

We've stayed at ASMo (101 Dalmatians) and loved it. There was only my DD and I and the room was great.
We were so very close to 2 main pools (fantasia and mighty ducks), the food court and the bus stops.
We would have no problems staying there again.

Hi Lin,

We've sayed at ASmu - in the jazz block, and ASmo - Mighty ducks.

Really enjoyed staying there both times, the themeing is fabulous although very 'in your face'.

Only downpoints IMHO are that they're such large resorts, because of this the foodcourt gets incredibly busy and the queues for the buses tend to always be the longest ones when you come out of the parks (and often on the way there) - and normally the furthest ones away.

If you're happy with large resorts, the hustle and bustle and the larger than life theming, you'll LOVE it there, it's a lot of fun.

Thanks everyone for all your views on ASmo.
Because I booked my flights with Bon Voyage, I need to book either 3 nights accomadation or 5 days car hire to get the good flight prices. I think we will go for ASmo .
Thanx again

HI,

We stayed at the All-Star Music Resort in October 1999 and enjoyed it. I think these resorts are great for kids.

The rooms are small but comfortable and clean. If possible try to get a room that is close to the main building. We had a long walk to the main building which was hard when checking in and out.
