All Stars or POP???

We might decide to take a 5 day trip during December 2007 or January 2008
and we are going to stay at a Value Resort!! But we can't really decide on which resort, All Stars or POP. I was wondering if you guys could tell us your favorite Value and why??? I am also to suggestions, tips and pictures!!! Thanks for any help!!!

I wouldn't obsess too much about either one. Really, you can't lose there are many threads on either. We happen to love the ASMo , even more next summer because of their family suite option. For the time of year you'll be going, the parks close early so you'll be spending more time at the resort. That being said, make sure to check any pool rehabs or refurbishments going on that may lessen what is offered at the resort. When the kids were little, we'd go in January after school was back in session--the rates were SO cheap--why not try to work a deal at one of the luxury resorts? you'll never find better rates We stay in the Values because we now go in June/July.

I have stayed at all of the values and the POP is by far my favorite value. It seems the layout of the resort makes the food court/bus area more convenient and of course it is the newest of the value resorts. Plus the others seem so far away from everything.

My choice would be Music.
In fact my sixth stay since 2001 is coming up in Sept.

Music has added games and contests by the pool in the afternoon and has movies by the pool at 9 PM.

All Star Music started showing the movies the beginning of this Summer.

As we noted on last week's MousePlanetWatch news podcast, We've gotten a couple of reports about the "something special" that we were told to keep our eyes out for at All-Star Music and Yacht & Beach Club. At All-Star Music, we've heard that folks have found karaoke sessions for dance parties near the pools, a nightly movie by the Calypso pool and in increase of staff to make it easier for guests to find assistance. ......

Sever DIS'ners have posted about the games and movies. here is quote from a fellow DIS'ner:

We were there July 10-19th in Calypso.
I thought the new rooms were great! Loved the peg board to hang hats etc... My parents had the handicap/king room and they loved it. Housekeeping was good.......

Besides the evening fun, in the afternoon they played games with the kids. Hula-hoop contests, musical chair type game, hit a target with a beanie and someone gets wet with a water balloon and a "Guess the song" game. The kids could win prizes like Twister or a Super Soaker etc....Adults could play too, but it was mostly kids playing.

All Star Music is my favorite Disney owned hotel.

I would choose the All-Star resorts. They just look more fun IMO.

I would love to stay at a Moderate or Deluxe but we want to save money so we can go again in June or July. Also, we don't really plan to go in the pools because I heard that it is cold in December and January. I will check January out, we would love a discount of some sort!!! Thanks dzneelvr!!!

Having only stayed at ASsports in the value category, I would have to choose Pop. We were less than impressed with Sports, but the pics I have seen of Pop look great. I would especially love to have a room on the lake there =)

we stayed at all star sports in 06 and at the pop in 07. The pop was much better. It was far less crowded and having their own bus means less time
going to and from parks. We are going back to the pop in April of 08
