All Stars or PO-R?

Hi--

I have ressie for ASMusic and ASSports in June. My family (me, DH, 15 DD, 6 DS) wanted to try the Contemporary but it seems they are all booked due to SOG closing for refurbishment. Anyway, I keep calling for the CR (to no avail) but there are rooms available at PO-R. We have never stayed at this resort. We have stayed at PO-FQ, each of the All Stars, WL, BC, Dolphin, and Poly. I don't know if family will like that resort. We dont want or like being too far from the bus stops, food court. We ate (good food court) at DL when we stayed at PO-FQ. We even have DL mugs.
Also---
I may let DD bring friend for part of the time. If we stay at PO-R, is it possible to allow her friend to stay with us a few nights? We would tell the front desk we are expecting someone, etc. Will we have to change rooms to 1 that accomodates 5 or will we be in the AB section the whole time?

There was a thread about this just the other day and just about everyone voted for POR over the AS. If you have 5 you will be in an alligator bayou room. I have stayed in these rooms many times and they are fine. The bed for the 5th person is a trundle bed that slides out from under the first double bed. POR is a great resort - a bigger version of POFQ. If you can't get into the Contemporary, definitely switch to POR. Your family will love the resort - 6 pools, great food court, sit-down restaurant, big store, playground, friendly ducks, fishin' hole, and boat transportation to Downtown Disney. One of our favorite resorts.

Hey there -

I'll have to go with jaguar on this one - with so many people (the possibiltiy of 5), you will be better off in the bigger POR rooms.

The food court is the same you experienced with Dixie Landings - plus you can use your same mugs!

Also - don't forget about Old Man's Island - such a great pool area!

POR, without a doubt. The rooms are larger and nicer than the AS resorts, especially for 5 people! Have a great time--we're hoping to go in June, too.

i personally like all stars over the moderates. The All stars are pretty cool looking and i dont think the mdoerates are gr8 lookn
