Hi, I'm still doing dummy bookings. I've just priced up this accommodation on Virgin and it lists the room as 'std' - saying it sleeps 1-5. I have assumed that this is not a standard room but a family suite.:confused3 I have 'booked' 2 adults and 3 children aged 12, 8 and 5. It seems pretty cheap for Virgin, which is why I'm wondering if it's a suite or standard room.

Total price: £4200ish.

As far as I know maximum occuapancy in a standard room at all the Disney Values is 4.

Having stayed at Pop, with only 2 of us in the room, I can't imagine having more than 4! There are 2 double beds but no room for a rollaway, so I would guess they must put you in a family suite if there are 5 of you.

Thanks, that's what I thought too. The price has disappeared now, so perhaps it was an error.:confused3

A family suite sleeps 6 - so it seems a bit odd and a bit cheap. When are you going?

Not until 2012. I thought it was odd too. I looked at the price of a family suite through Disney and it was just over £2000. I wouldn't want to book what seemed like a bargain and then find all 5 of us in one room for 2 weeks. We wouldn't cope.:rotfl: The other rooms (sport and movies) stipulated 'sleeps 4' and I would have had to have selected 2 rooms to accommodate our family.:confused3

I was searching yesterday too and noticed that it was allowing 5 in All star music. I am guessing that it is a mistake as the suites sleep 6 and standard room 4. I wonder what would happen if you booked it?
As a side note, if you do fancy being in 1 room it appears that TCD are allowing 5 in POR, again might be a mistake but as Disney US allow it, it might be right

We had the same problem booking our WDW hols for next year, the family travelling with us are 5 like you (not many options), you are able to stay at all star music but you do have to upgrade to a family suite which bumps up the price.(only value resort that sleeps 5) We looked at OKW but again you had to upgrade to a 2 bed doubling the price, we opted for BCR as this worked out better value than OKW for a family of 5. Hope this helps.

It won't be a family suite from Virgin.

I asked them about these rooms when I found out about them, which was after we'd booked our room at Pop.

They will give you a price to book one if you email them, but it added too much on to our holiday price, so we left it as 4 of us in one room at Pop.

I can't remember exactly, but I think it was about an extra £1000 for two weeks in the school holidays in April.

We had two interconnecting rooms at ASMu last year which gave us 4 double beds, 2 bathrooms and wasn't as dear as the family suite.

My ideal choice would be OKW but a 2 bedroom suite plus tickets is in the region of £4500 even with the 42% off. I couldn't cope with all 5 of us in one room but I will look at interconnecting rooms in a value. I'm trying to work it all out and obviously OKW would offer free Disney Dining Plan, which would be worth approximately £1500.:confused3

My sums so far:

OKW + tickets + food = £4500 + flights (£2500) = £7000

Value x 2 + tickets = £3000 + flights (£2500) = £5500 but no food included.

Would I spend £1500 on food? I'm not sure. I would like the DDP because we wouldn't have to watch the pennies. I've decided that we definitely want to stay onsite as we will only be 'doing' Disney. Is BCR the Beach Club? Would it be 1 room sleeping all 5 of us?

Any help is appreciated.:)

The beach club you would be all in one room, we're doing that in a few weeks and its a scary thought :scared1:.
Have you priced up the cabins at FW, we loved it there and if it wasn't that the kids wanted to try out stormalong bay we would have been back there this year

I think FW cabins might be a bit too expensive but I like the look of it. I'll be interested to know how you get on as a family of 5 in one room. I suppose it depends on the kids and how they get along but I know mine would be hard work.:rotfl: Plus, I'm a light sleeper so I think I'd struggle. Are the rooms at the Beach Club bigger than the Value rooms?

We've stayed at the Yacht Club as a family of 5 ~ I believe the rooms are the same size as the Beach Club but we chose the Yacht Club as we wanted a balcony. There were two queen beds and a daybed which my 15 year old slept on and said it was really comfy. The rooms will be bigger than a standard Value room but guess the family suite would be even bigger, doesn't that have two bathrooms?

We've always found it fine with 5 of us in one room. Luckily my DDs get along OK and we don't even find it difficult with one bathroom ~ as none of them are very keen on breakfast DH and I get ready first and go down for breakfast which then leaves the bathroom free for them.

The cabins worked out much the price as the beach club, think the cabins would have been £10pp cheaper when we booked.
Will let you know how we get on in BC, still trying to work out the sleeping arrangements, none of teh kids want to sleep together :headache::headache:
The rooms are bigger than values but nit sure by how much as this is my 1s time staying at a deluxe resort.
Wouldn't things be a lot easier if we were a family of 4:confused3
