On www.cbs.com , you can check out a preview for All Star Survivor! :D They don't show who is on the show, but you do see some footage from the island. The preview also hints at some new twists for these guys as well!

Wonder how long the Super Bowl will be on that night?

Thanks for the link. My guess is that the Superbowl will be over around 10:00/9:00 central, but you never know.

I think it's interesting that there are 18 survivors this time. Aren't there usually only 16? I guess they want to keep it on 2 extra weeks to rake in that advertising money!

I can't wait...I can't wait!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

I heard that they will be announcing the cast next week but I didn't hear what day!

I can't wait to see all the fun All Star commercials advertising the show during the Super Bowl!

Rumor has it going two extra weeks, and possibly starting with three six person tribes.

This will definitely be the mother of all Survivors (and reality shows). I can't wait...Mark Burnett is a genius (anyone see "the Apprentice last night?)

Keeping fingers crossed that Richard Hatch keeps his clothes on this time! Jeez!

Red Tribe

SFever originally reported Ken and Sandra were players, and they now claim them as possible alternates.

Reply to possible spoiler......

Here is what I found!

All-Star Survivor Speculation (possibly spoilers)
Well, it turns out that the All-Star edition of Survivor is being filmed as we speak...

According to many spoiler sites (as reported in The Toronto Star) the following players are participating in Survivor 8 (note, there will be 18 contestants, starting as 3 tribes, with 2 TCs in each of the first two episodes):

From Season 1:

Rudy Boesch - This is a given, since a) He was incredibly memorable, b) He fulfills the "old-guy" role, and c) He has worked on another show by Mark Burnett, "Combat Missions". At the first Survivor Party I went to for Survivor I, I had a sign paraphrasing a Rudy quote "We love you Rudy, but not in a homosexual way, that's for sure."

Richard Hatch - Possibly the name most synonymous with Survivor contestants, and still considered one of the smartest to play the game.

Susan Hawk - Another gimme, famous for the "Snake/Rat" speech in the final episode. Former Wisconsin truck driver now owning a smoothie shop in Las Vegas. When they asked Susan if she would pose for playboy, she responded that "Playboy wouldn't want me. They would have to put me in Hustler."

Jenna Lewis - First surprise. Not overly memorable from Season 1, but became a fame ***** after the show. Meets the need for eye candy. I believe she posed for Playboy.

Notably Absent:
Gervace Petersen: The original "lazy black contestant". Another fame ***** from season 1, and had a good sense of humor.

Gretchen: One of the most respected contestants with true survival skills. Her ouster was the first evidence from the show that this game had little to do with survival skills.

Season 2:

Amber Brkich: Wha? Eye candy, I guess. She also appeared in Playboy afterwords. Bryant Gumbel referred to her as "the dumb one" in the Survivor 3 reunion show. Maybe it's a make-up for that.

Alicia Callaway: Famous for the line, "I will ALWAYS wave my finger in your face." Also was incredibly buff. She was pagonged, so I'd like to see what she could do otherwise.

Colby Donaldson: Eye candy for the ladies. Ran off one of the best individual challenge streaks. Also pulled one of the greatest alliance defections in history to bounce Mitchell.

Jerri Manthey: Another name synonymous with Survivor. The original Survivor *****. She got much of her dignity back by the way she behaved on The Surreal Life. Yet another Playboy alum.

Tina Wesson: Winner of Survivor 2. Otherwise, there's not that much appealing about her.

Notably Absent:

Jeff Varner: One of the most colorful contestants with great sound bites.

Mike: One of the only contestants never to receive a vote at tribal council. I thought they migh have him back, cause of the uniqueness of his exit.

Season 3:

"Big Tom" Buchanan - Awesome comic relief, and I'm glad to see him there.

Lex Van den Berghe - Not my favorite survivor, but about as strange and paranoid as they get.

Ethan Zohn - Winner of S3. Again, not a great contestant, but a previous winner, good guy, and pulled off the first ever blowout vote.

Notably Absent: None

Season 4:

Kathy Vavrick-O'Brien: Pretty loony, and would have gotten voted off right away if her tribe ever went to tribal council. Many people think that she was the one who deserved to win.

Rob Mariano: Known as the Rahbfather. One of the great strategests of the game unable to win. However, the stink he make before his ouster helped to form the overthrow at the next TC. I am looking forward to seeing what he can do.

Notably Absent:

Vecepia - one of 2 winners not to appear. My guess is that she was asked and declined. I won't miss her, and Alicia and Shii Ann fill the minority women role.

Paschal: The only one to be booted at TC without a single vote. Not overly interesting, but beloved and arguably deserved a second chance.

John: His tribe's coconut cutting faux paux was one of the biggest strategic errors ever. It would have been interesting to see what he could have done.

Season 5:

Shii Ann Huang: The Shii-Devil was another great Survivor strategest and possibly one of the purely smartest survivors ever. Lacking in people skills, but she may be able to do something with her second chance.

Notably Absent:

Brian Heidik: The used car salesman who was secretly a porn star. Another winne who would not be returning. Probably makes too much money to want to go back, or CBS really didn't know about his porn past and didn't want more of that talk. Nevertheless, he was the best winner at the game since Richard Hatch.

Season 6:

Rob Cesterino: Another of the best strategests the game has seen. Lost a little bit in my mind when he voted for Jenna over Matt out of spite and possbly lust. He will be great in the game.

Jenna Morasca: Survivor 6 winner (although questionably deserving). Many will look to se her either get voted out right away or get naked again. Another Playboy alum.

Notably Absent:

Matt: Most thought that he would win for sure. He was an interesting character, but probably not as scar the secont time around.

Season 7:

Rupert Boneham: I'll bet that they had no plans to add him until he turned out to be such a dynamic character. It should be interesting logistically, since Rupert is, at a minimum, on the jury, but is expected to be filming Survivor 8 when the Survivor 7 finale airs. How exactly they plan to do this, I have no idea. Perhaps he will appear on satellite. I think it was a good move.

Notably Absent: None

Overall, it looks like a good cast with a couple of exceptions, and I'm looking forward to seeing it.

Great link Grog! Now I REALLY can't wait for it to start!

Did anyone catch the cast announcement on the Early Morning Show? I'm glad only one (Shii Ann) from Thailand is going to be on the All-Stars! That was my least favorite cast overall. I really think this will be interesting and A LOT of fun to watch!!!

Man, with the search function hardly ever working, it was almost impossible to find this thread.

My newspaper posted the cast this morning, but I see CBS already announced it on the morning show. Once again, the rumors turn out to be true. So, my question is: since Jon didn't make it, what the heck was he babbling about at the reunion show?
