Hi, love this site, very informative. My daughter is arriving Thanksgiving at the All Star Sports. Any suggestions for room assignments? She has booked a King, non-smoking.
Thanks for your help.

Hi - we stayed in the Touchdown Building, and found it convenient to the quiet pool, the food court, and the bus stop!

I second it for touchdown..we chose it cuz we are huge football fans....we ended up right smack in the middle of the football field, first floor...a minute walk to either pool and food court plus we could sit in the air conditioned hotel room and be able to see the kids run around on the field.

I actually stayed in a first floor touchdown room when I was in WDW for a conference, and had to ask to be moved. My room opened into the football field, and it's unavoidable at a sports themed hotel that parents buy their boys little footballs. Despite the signs saying the coutyard closed at 10PM (I think it was), the kids were out there well after 11. They moved me to the other side of the building and I was able to get to sleep better.

I guess it really depends on your sleeping habits. If you have kids who need to be asleep by 10 each night, I'd go for a room that's near a pool but not up against a courtyard. (Sorry.. don't have a map handy). If you don't care about the noise, the touchdown courtyard rooms sure are conveniently located.

It's also nice to be relatively close to the food court in order to fill your mugs. Those loong walks get kinda frustrating after 4 drinks a day for a week!

Wow, we're staying here too, it's good to see this. but i guess it's too late to make requests, since we're heading there in about two weeks?

I've never done this before, but don't people usually say to FAX in your room requests only 4-7 days in advance to the room controller of the resort you're going to? If that's true, then you're actually a week too soon!

I am going to send my room request on Monday 11/24 for arrival on Thursday 11/27. This is the time frame suggested by another board. Thanks for the suggestions.

You are within the perfect time frame....I faxed my request 10 days before check in and got the exact location I wanted. What you'll want to do is make it sound very, very special. I wrote that it was "our first ever magical trip to Disney World" and that we were meeting family we hadn't seen in years.....don't know if that is why we were granted exactly what we wanted but I'm sure it doesn't hurt!! I guess the suggestion is not to DEMAND something..but ask very sweetly and give a reason why, even if it is just cuz its ur first trip or something like that!!! Good luck.

MASHELL - Report back pls. where you picked and how you liked it. Re: MikeVarney's comment - the best tip I can give you is to bring foam earplugs for everyone in your family - it really cuts down on the noise factor - Have a wonderful trip!

I'm not an earplug person, and that's the last thing I would do on a vacation... <grin> But really, it wasn't a big deal for me to move.

In general, if groups of kids outside at 10PM would disrupt your sleeping, you could even just go around the corner of the building so you're not up against the courtyard. That way, you're not in direct earshot, but are still just as close to everything.

I'm not one to complain about kids just having a good time on their vacation.

Excellent timing!

I'm in the same boat as Scrump - 2 weeks out and trying to find a nice location at Sports. Does it matter much which floor you're on with respect to noise?

We had thought about the main floor for quick access - weren't sure about noise though?

Thanks for the help! Will be faxing a 'pleasant' request next week!
