Hi all just seeing if any one knows what is going on with the End zone food at the Disney all star sports, I understand that it will be shut for a refit and that the arcade will be come a temporary grab n go place for food BUT will it have the outlets for the all you can drink mugs? all the Disney site is saying is:

All Star Sports - End Zone Food Court closed 7/31/2013- 12/26/2013. There will be transportation from the porte cochere to All Star Music or All Star Movies to dine in the Intermission Food Court or World Premier Food Court. The Arcade will be closed 7/31/2013- 12/26/2013. It is being used as a temporary Food Court with "Grab & Go" items

I know its only a mug but it will kill me. i drink non stop (i refill my water bottle in the parks about 20+ times a day) so you can only think how much a save the mug is to me in the hotel.

thanks in advance

My guess as the arcade is being turned in to grab and go is that they will have bottled beverages only.

You can use your mug at the other all star resorts but until it is operational no one will know for sure.

Thanks,

its really making me think about moving hotel now :sad2:

as yes i know that the music is just over the carpark but last year i was at the Music and decided to use one of the pools at the Sports (just for a change) and can say the car park is a lot bigger than 1st seems and having to get a bus just to get a refill is a bit to much just for a drink lol

With regards the food we have decided that if we have to get a bus for our meals that we will get the bus to MGM and then a frendship to the Swan and dolphin and use Picabu restaurant then start the day from there.
We loved the food at Picabu when we was at the swan 2 years ago

I have sent Disney a email and if i get a reply i will update this thread with the reply.

Only 93 days to go
well 92 as counting the hotel at Birmingham airport the night befor as its all part of the holiday :cool1:

Hi all got the reply today from WDW and looks like im gona have to look at moveing hotel as thay are not putting a drinks outlet in the arcade (altow it would not seem a big deal to put one in)

the reply :

Dear Adrian,

Thank you for contacting the Walt Disney World® Resort.

All guests will be provide transportation from Disney's All Star Sports
to Disney’s All-Star Music Resort and Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
where you can dine at the Intermission Food Court or World Premier Food
Court.

You will have to use your refillable mug at Disney’s All-Star Music
Resort or Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort.

Adrian, we look forward to entertaining you at the Walt Disney World
Resort.

If you have questions or need further assistance, feel free to contact
us.

Sincerely,

its a shame as for the sake of a 20min temporary installation its made pepole like myself have to move as cant be doing with getting a bus just to get a drink and will the bus be letting you on with a full mug to bring back to the room?:confused::confused::confused:

That just doesn't sound like Disney's normal customer service and don't understand why can't they temporary install one.

Hope you manage to change resort and ask for an upgrade or a discount for the inconvenience, you may be lucky and get a very helpful cast-member.

Cheers

The holiday is booked Via Thomson Holidays online and just had a look at the booking and even tho its all paid it will alow me to change to the Music (been last year) or the movies for a little bit more moneys (£180) for the 2 of us.

Thinking of waiting for a little wile tho as the prices have droped over the past 4-7 days. I can go to the POP resort for the same cost but like the location of the all stars. bus now looking online for the bus traveling time to epcot from POP vs All stars.

I loved the all stars lasy year tho HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Next year or 2015 i will look to go back to the Swan as loved the boat ride to epcot but with less of a disney price tag lol.

Will update my out come. thanks

Have you actually been to POP?

I loved it, and I actually think it has a great location and bus service.

Plus, at All Stars you're going to be dealing with around 50% more crowds at meal times which wouldn't appeal to me - its already a busy resort!

Just saying, if it were me, I'd give serious consideration to POP :)

Ok so i have done some internet serching and all say that the POP is the same ride time as if we stay at the Sports.

Im now in limbo as starting to like the look of the pop from the youtube vidios i have seen and with knowing the resort will have a full restaurant BUT Thomson want a £280 extra to chang over and the fees. i have called them and expland that at the time of booking it stated that a restrant will be on site and that it wont be but they say "We dont know of any closeing of the restrant and wont be offering a fee free move to the POP)

SO do i pay the £280 extra for:

A full restrant
one bus to the resort VS one bus for all 3 of the all stars
looks nicer than all star

If thay waved the £100 charge id have just changed for the £180 extra

They probably would if it was a standalone resort however with 2 other resorts in walking distance and they are providing buses they probably don't see the need.

Personally I wouldn't pay that - for £280 you can buy as much soft drink as you want from the supermarket!

You will have fridge in the room to keep it cold and no walking to fetch it :thumbsup2

Also we eat at our resort QS probably once or twice in a trip so not having a full QS restaurant wouldn't worry us - there are plenty of other places to eat :goodvibes

I have only drove to the front doors (pic up on way back to airport) and the front looked more looked after then the music we was at last year but the £280 charge is a bit ott when it comes to changing due to the food court

i feel sory for the pepole who dont go on the DIS and other sites as when they arrive and get told "O by the way you got to get a bus for food" i would be very us set

I not even told my brother about this problem yet as i would love to sort the problem 1st. this is his 1st WDW visit and want it all to be spot on.

Unless you have a mobility issue, it really isn't very far across the parking lot to the other All Star resorts. We've done it quite a few times.

That said, as a PP has mentioned the extra guests using the food courts, especially Music as it's next door to Sports, might make it an unpleasant experience all round.

I would be very upset if it were my holiday as I do like to eat a lot of my meals at the hotel. I'd want to move at least as far as Movie resort but would probably pay the difference and go for POP.

I dislocated my leg a few year ago and has been giveing me a bit of jip the past few month but i dont class that as a mobility issue but still dont like paying for something i cant have and its a hard decision of pay out and move or put up and shut up lol.

thomson are going to call me back as asked if some one can talk to a manager about the problem to see if they can wave the admin fee, like i say i dont mind paying the extra to move but admin fee when no person would need to do this as its done online is a bit :upsidedow have to wait and see what they offer. but cant see me staying at that resort.

I normaly end up calling my resort "home" but allready the sports is makeing me feel bad and im not going for another 89 days

I would pay the difference and go to Pop. I prefer it to the AS resorts and it's far better not having to share a bus between 3 resorts. I prefer the theming at Pop and I like the fact you can walk over to Landscape of Flavours at AoA, which is a superior value QS IMHO.

I'm very surprised that there will be no refill mug station at ASSp but on top of everything else, that would be a deal breaker for me.

Hi all. I called Thomson abou the problem as they never got back to me. 1st they told me that they would move us for the price difrence plus £50 per person admin fee.

After being on the phone for almost an hour they finally gave in and moved us to the pop resort for just the cost difrence :).

So for the £120 extra I know that we haven't got to put up with the over buzzy all stars. I'm even more excited now as the good reports I have seen and vids on YouTube.

Thank you all that commented

I'm glad you got it sorted out.

Such a shame for those that don't realise what is happening. Easy access to food and mug refills are very important after a day in the parks.

Enjoy the rest of your planning.

So glad you have it all sorted now. We've stayed at AS once and Pop twice and we much preferred Pop.Youll have a great time there:cool1:

Good to read it's all been sorted, put's the magic back into your holiday, have an amazing time.
