We've stayed at the All Star Movies twice and we love it! Haven't tried Sports yet. (My little one loves the Movies better than the deluxes or moderates! The giant character icons are a definite hit for her!) She and I are scheduled to go in October and we're booked at the Movies again (at her request!) However, if I can get a better rate at the Music or Sports, I'd switch.

My suggestion would be to talk with your boys and see what they'd prefer. Usually, discounts are available at the Music or Sports, rarely at the Movies (although I did get the Movies for $49/night in Dec, 2001!!!)

We've had excellent bus service at the All Star Movies - we've rarely had to share the bus with the other All Star hotels. Food court was very nice. Enjoy!!!

I've stayed at both and would pick Movies over Sports. The only reason is I like the theming of Movies better with the huge characters. The amenities are the same however and we usually stay at the AS where we can get a code. As Magic2000 said the discounts for Movies are harder to come by.

I would do the AS Movies. The larger than life characters really make the place feel like Disney.

We have stayed at the ASMo and really enjoyed the theme there. I also think they have a wonderful food court. We have stayed at Movies and Music but not Sports. I found Movies to be much more enjoyable. Have fun on which every one you pick.

We are staying there later this year. I love the theming more than the other all stars (we stayed at sports last year).

Other than theming, the all stars are all the same.

If this is a big deal for you, then go with Movies.

It took a couple of tries for me to get it with the summer savings rate, but I did get it.

HTH!;)

I have stayed at both and enjoyed both. The sports gets picked up first and dropped off first by the buses, but if you are bringing a car I wouldnt' worry about it. You can't go wrong either way. Request room near the main pool/food court .

I love the movies, but you are traveling with boys. If they are sports fanatics, I'd stay there. For example, I'm traveling with my brother and sister, but to make my brother feel more comfortable we are going to stay at the sports (if they had a rap building at the Music we would stay there). My suggestion is ask you sons.

We have stayed at the movies in the past but this trip DS 10 wants the sports so we will be there. The only real difference is the theme and the pick up order so i too would let the boys decide. Bet however that the 3 yr old says movie and 9yr old says sports!! We are hoping for a good code or postcard rate and move to AK lodge our real first choice too.

We've stayed at Movies and Music. Got refillable mugs for both resorts, of course. DS says that if we go again - we must stay at Sports, so that he can have a 'set' of all 3 refillable mugs at home! Expensive set of mugs, hmmm? :teeth: :teeth:

But, seriously, this is how I'd do it. Decide if the money or the theming is more important. If you decide that the money is more important (for example: if you are staying 7 nights and you can save $20 per night by booking at a particular All Stars - decide if looking at a particular set of icons is worth $140).

But if there are no special room rates for your vacation - most people rate the All Stars in this order: 1. Movies 2. Music and 3. Sports. So I'd book at the one with your preferred icons - and explain to your family that if you get a better rate at one of the other AS - you might switch over to that one.

And I've already explained to DS - that if Movies or Music has a better rate than Sports - we'll stay at the one with the better rate and stop at Sports - so that he can spend his money to get his refillable mug set completed.

Personally, I love the Sports, although I want to try Movies next time we stay.

For your situation, with one son being so young, I think Movies might be your best option, unless he is (already) big into sports. If you do go to Sports, stay in the football area if you can. If you can get building 10, on the food court end, you are closer to everything than the "preferred" buildings (Surf's Up). Although, no matter which building you are in, you are not far whereever you might wish to go since they are so small in terms of walking distance. Enjoy your trip.

We have stayed at both resorts. My son prefers the Sport resort because he loves the football section. He was able to run, jump and play football with other kids at this section as it is just like a football field.

My little niece loves the Movie resort. Her favorite section is the Dalmation. She just loves the puppies.

I liked both of them. The rooms are the same size no matter which resort you pick.

If you did pick the Movies there is always the Toy Story section the boys seem to like as well as the Mighty Duck section. The Mighty Duck does have a smaller pool there also.

I think your family would like either resort.
