Ok, I keep going back and forth in my mind about our December 08 stay!!
All Star Sports is the only value we have not stayed at and I am leaning toward it. However, I would also like to stay at CBR sometime (does not have to be this trip, but sometime).

It is just DH and I, so the size of the value rooms are ok with us! It is my understanding that the values and mods have the same size beds, so upgrading to CBR will not benefit us in that regard. I would like to request a king bed at whichever place we choose because on our honeymoon at ASMu we lucked up and got a king bed and it was nice!

We don't care about pool slides as we do not spend much time swimming.

I'm trying to think of the other advantages of CBR other than the size of the room and pool slides, but I have went blank!

I love the giant icons and am afraid that I would miss them (they are all I have ever experienced and are very DISNEY to me)

So please vote on which resort you think I should pick!!! And let me know why!! I know I probably will not decide for a while, but I would like to know what you guys think!!

Thanks :goodvibes

Hi there blue eyes! I understand your dilema! The first time I went to WDW I stayed off site with my sister. The next time I went with Dh and he had been before and stayed on site, and raved about the Disney hotels. I was so looking forward to it, and I was imagining the All Star type hotel... everything very bright, colourful and Disney-ish. I couldn't tell him this, but I was a little disappointed that the Caribbean Beach - where we stayed - wasn't like that.

Having said all that, we took neices and nephews on the next trip and stayed at the All Star Music, which was nice, and I did love the brightness and the big icons...

BUT

Now we own DVC and last trip we stayed at Saratoga Springs, which is not big and bright with icons, and I loved it! This next trip we are staying at OKW and I can't wait.

We are staying for 2 nights in POP at the end of our stay... because it was cheeper to do it that way for us.. but I would have happily stayed at OKW until the end of the trip.

So what am I saying... yes there is a lot of fun with the big icons, but there is something beautiful and magical, in a different way about the other mod, deluxe and DVC resorts... you just need to go with the mind set that it's different. As our DVC guide said to us, when I brought up about the lack of icons in DVC... 'you get big, bright, colourful Disney all day in the parks... why not treat yourself to a little different relaxation in the evenings?' Which is a very good point.

Caribbean Beach is a lovely place, you can see the high up Epcot fireworks from the beach in the evenings, if you are out and about at the right time, the food court is bright and cheerful, and nicer than the all star ones, and the rooms are nice.

The other option you have is to do a split stay, if you are there long enough for it to be worth it. We are there for 9 nights... and have 7 at OKW and 2 at POP... but I think that if you do that, you should have long enough at CBR to get a real feel for the place, and not make a quick judgement.

Anyway hope that helps.

I have stayed at All Stars Movies twice and CBR several times. I much prefer CBR over the All Stars. Since it's just the two of you, the size of the room really won't be a problem. I just prefer the overall atmosphere at CBR. I love the beautiful grounds and the sandy beaches. I love relaxing in a hammock and swimming in the quiet pool. I love to stay in Aruba and walk over the island to Old Port Royale and hearing the calypso music playing in the background.

The All Stars are a great value, but a totally different atmosphere. It really is just a matter of what seems more "Disney" to you.

I picked CBR, even though I haven't stayed there. I don't mind the accommodations at the value resorts, but I do mind the noise, and the lack of a table service restaurant. I have been in the food court at AS, and it is very loud, and when I'm really tired from a long day in the parks, I prefer to drop into a chair and have someone bring food to me. :rotfl:

I voted for CBR not because I don't love the Values (we had a great stay at Sports by the way) but CBR is so romantic! I could spend days just strolling around that resort. Given the fact your trip is just the two of you, I would go for it.

But of course in the end, you cannot make a wrong decision. I love both of your choices and you'll have a great trip regardless of where you stay!
