We have reservations in late September at All-Star Sports.

What has been your experience there? Any advice or tips?

Anything you did or did NOT like?

We have stayed at the AS Sports doezens of times...it is great.

The food in the food court is excellent. The layout excellent..no matter where you are..even in the furthest building back..you are only a few minute walk to everything. Very convenient.

i agree, the all star sports is a great resort, the theming of it is great. i love staying there, the pools and the food courts are great! enjoy your stay and i hope you have a fun time!:bounce:

I have stayed at both Sports and Movies, and although most people seem to like Movies the best, we really preferred Sports. In fact, we are going back to Sports in October.

We felt it was a little less crowded, and a little more laid back. I've heard that it can vary on occassion, but when we were there, we were always the first picked up and dropped off on the busses.

We thought the food court was great, too. We can't wait to go back!

My dh and I (not really sports fans) love ASsp. We stayed there at first because it was a value hotel and we chose sports because it is the first on the bus line. But we have loved it ever since.

We have tried other resorts (hated PC, trying WL in Sept.) and even though we can afford the Mods and Deluxes now, we still find ourselves missing the familiarity of ASsp. Also, when our baby is bigger, regardless of budget, we will stay there. In my opinion the Values are the best themed and best built for kids.

You will have a great time!

ASsP is an excellent resort and you can not beat the prices of staying on-site. If you are like most of the people that only sleep in the rooms and accassionally use the pools you will be more than fine.

ASSports is what convinced us to never stay off-site again... we loved it! and would be going back this vacation 'cept we want to try somewhere new (pop century)... definitely liked ASSp more than CBR...

jen4974, what did you dislike about pop?

We've stayed at Sports twice both in May and had very different experiences, both good.

The first time, we were in the baseball bldg #8 and it was very busy, the pool was crowded and noisy. We were on the 3rd floor facing the parking lot so using the elevator was a bit of a pain. They were working on the football field courtyard at the time so getting to the food court was an obstacle course. Other than that we enjoyed our stay here enough to come back!

The second time, we were in the basketball bldg #2 which was very quiet. Our room was at the end, facing the courtyard, on the 1st floor. We liked this location MUCH better! It was easy to park and get to our room. The food court and main pool did not seem as far even though it looks like it on the map. No construction this time so we were able to check out the cool new football field.

I would suggest requesting a first floor room, if that's what you like, in a location that suits your taste (taking theme and noise level into consideration) and enjoy your stay!

We recently stayed at ASSP for the first time and really enjoyed it. My DSs are big sports fans so we knew we couldnt go wrong. The buses were good and food court was great! Our rooms were spotless and we even got towel animals(which I wasnt expecting at all). Mousekeeping went above the call of duty here.
We were in the football section and it was very convenient to everything.

My family loves All-Star Sports. Have stayed there on five different trips to WDW. In fact DH and I are taking an adult only trip in November. We considered a different resort.... but after all was said and done we ended up booking the All Star Sports again. Its convenient, the food court is great, and the bus service can't be beat. We spend very little time in our hotel room, so the price is just right also.

One year in March we did run into cheerleading competition staying at the All Star Sports. That was a little trying!

I've stayed at the All Star Sports several times... All experiences have been great.. The food court is nice, great pools and its a great place for kids.... and usually you can get a great deal..

:)

We love Sports. Try to get the football section (love to kick a field goal first thing in the morning - or at least try to).

i have stayed at sports and music (not movies myself but others in my family have) and i prefer sports.

not because i'm a sport nut heavens no lol. but it's the way the bus runs, the pool, the food court, everything. it's GREAT. if we couldnt' afford to stay deluxe, i would def. stay at sports again in a heartbeat. in 4 or so stays there, has always been great.

Sports is first on the bus lineup, but I thought Movies had their own bus? We've stayed at Music and sports, and we much preferred music (hate to be the lone dissenter). We stayed there during some massive sports competition, so it was pretty noisy and the food court seemed to be at capacity all the time. We'll probably always be the "values" type simply because we really just need a room to sleep in, but we'd rather try Music, Movies or PC ahead of Sports. But we're at Disney, so at the end of the day, it's all good!

I've stayed at ASSp twice, CBR once and Contemporary once. While the room at CBR was slightly larger than ASSp, I'll take ASSp over CBR every time.

The DW wanted to try a different value resort for our trip in Nov. We are trying ASMu. I hope that I am as pleased with it as I was with ASSp...

We usually stay at AS Sports, if we don't stay at SoG and we really enjoy it. We noticed that when they have one bus for all the AS Resorts, Sports is the first on when they are picking up at the resorts, and the first off when they are dropping off at the resorts.

Granted when there is some kind of sporting event for schools going on, you will get all the teams staying at Sports, but it didn't seem to be any different than when they aren't there.

We have never experienced any type of problem that wasn't fixed to our satisfaction. In fact the only thing we ever had a problem with, was that the toilet in one room did not flush properly. We reported it, they came and tried to fix it, it worked a couple times and started acting up again. We reported it and they moved us to a different room. Problem solved. They were very good with us.

We have stayed in just about every area of the Sports and even being in one of the two buildings right near the pool, we didn't have a problem with sound carrying. We were there while grad night was on that time.
