I was just curious since I have never used the bus system before what the approximate drive times are between the all star resorts and the park areas.

Specifically I was curious about the drive time from the all star music to the magic kindom, epcot, animal kingdom, disney's hollywood studios and downtown disney.

I have heard they can be slow and they can have long waits. I am going to need to get from my room at ASM to Downtown disney for the cirque show. Any help anyone has would be awesome. My trip is june 10-14 and the day of the cirque show is the 12th which is a saturday and it is the earlier show. Hopefully those details can help you guys with info.

Thanks,
Teresa

the buses usually take around 20 minutes to get to the parks. really its not all that bad. the worse it if you get to the line and its long...you may not get on the next one. as in the evenings, as much as they cram people in, you often have to wait for one or two before getting on one.

as for dtd it is a bit farther away, cant remember from movies but when we were at wl in april, we went by all the dvc's so it took a bit longer. and allstars are further out than wl. i'd leave a few hrs before hand for dtd and then take a look around if you get there way early. better to be early than late! enjoy your trip!

AK is only about 10 minutes.

DHS and Epcot are probably about 20 minutes, allowing for a stop at AS Movies and lots of red lights. If you go at a time when the bus doesn't stop at Movies, and happen to hit all green lights, it could be as little as 10 minutes.

MK is a bit further away, but the bus usually does not stop at Movies first, so figure also about 20 minutes.

As for DTD, Saturday evening is one of the worst times for traffic in that area. Possibly 30 minutes to DTD Marketplace, and up to 10 minutes more to the PI stop (if traffic is really bad.) When the traffic is bad, and when lots of people are leaving Typhoon Lagoon, the DTD buses get further apart. You might have to wait as long as 40 minutes for the bus.

Make sure you leave enough time to get to Cirque well before the recommended time on your tickets. You don't want to miss the preshow, and if you arrive after the start of the main show, you won't be allowed to your seats until the opening procession has finished. You really can't arrive too early: you can spend any extra time walking around DTD, browsing in the shops, etc.

You will need 20-30 minutes tops to go anywhere in the WDW on an average day. We have been in June the past two years and waited for buses no more than 20 minutes. Because you have reservations for the show, I would allow at least 1-1 1/2 hours-this includes waiting for the bus and the ride to take you to DD. You would rather arrive too early then too late! :thumbsup2

could you guys please give me your opinions on staying at AS Music vs The Contemporary as far as buses go and wait times?

I have read "reviews" saying that the AS Resorts can be a nightmare when trying to get a bus, esp coming back to the resort.
I am going to have 5 kids (between 6 months and 7yrs) traveling with 3 adults, is it worth the extra money to stay at the Contemporary where I can walk to MK and the bus/monorail situation seems to be muchhh better then the AS Resorts?

thanks
