Let me know what you think. I have two adults and 8, 11 year old kids. Last time we stayed at the Poly...I love the easy transportation system to the parks. How are the buses to MK at EM hours...what time do they start running? Let me know. Have stayed at a Savanah view at AKL before and enjoyed the resort.

You might be surprisingly impressed of how Disney management did a wonderful job of converting some of the standard rooms into the Family Suites.

I agree.

Just an FYI

For comparison, the price of a Family Suite is $9-11 more then 2 Standard Rooms, or $13-15 less the 2 Preferred Rooms, depending on season.

Note: there is no extra fee for extra adults in a Family Suite.
1-6 adults can stay in a Family Suite at the regular rate.
The values charge $10 extra a night for each additional adult .
(only 2 adults are included in the room rate.)

AAA now has dicounts on the Family Suites.
Codes and other discounts have also been offered.
Keep your eyes open for specials!

Remember a fridge is included in AS Suite.

Fridges cost $10 a night to rent when staying at a value . Don't forget the Queen size bed,a coffee pot and microwave are also in Family Suites.
The Family Suites are located in the Calypso and Jazz buildings. Those buildings are the buildings which are nearest to the main pool ,food court and bus stop.
That means less walking to and from your room!

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.
The sofa folds out and sleeps two. Both the chair and ottoman also fold out into a twin bed and each sleep 1 person.

Have fun at Disney wherever you choose to stay!:wizard:

AKL is my favorite resort so I am biased. :rotfl: They have the best transportation we have ever had onsite. However the rooms at the suites will be larger but no animals to look at. LOL.

I had a similar dilemma. Last January, we stayed at WL with a 6 and 2 yo. We are going again in January (now they are 7 and 3), and I'm trying the Family Suites. Your dilemma isn't exactly the same, because sleeping in the same room with an 8 and 11 yo might be easier than with a 6 and 2 yo. I'm hoping that they sleep better, and DH and I don't have to turn out the lights so early. And, as a bonus, it costs less than our WL woods view room.

If you think that you might appreciate the extra space, two bathrooms, and privacy for a lower price, I would try the Family Suites, too!

After January, I can do a better comparison!
