I need to decide between All Star Sports or All Star Music. I'm traveling with my DD and she doesn't like the look of Pop Century (thinks it looks to babyish) and I can't get the AAA discount at Movies. Which would you choose?

I've not stayed at music but have stayed at sports. It was busy and loud but still nice. There were a lot of sports teams (middle school/high school) staying there. They were staying there while participating in sporting events around there. I don't know if it is like that all the time or not.

The advantage that I saw at staying at sports, is that it was the first to get picked up by the bus. When we stayed there, all three resorts shared buses to the parks. By the time we loaded up at the sports, there was little room left on the bus to pick up at the other resorts.

Hopefully someone who has stayed there more recently can give you updated info! :scratchin

They're basically the same hotels with different theming. Might as well pick the one you can get for less, just mention that you would not like a preferred location, since those are the closest to the food court and central pool, and will therefore be the noisiest.

We have stayed at the ASsports 4 times and music once (in June 05). The only bad experience we had the the Sports was when we stayed in August once and there was a softball tournament going on. There were loud kids up at all hours of the night. They were outside our room at 2 AM hitting the rails and laughing etc.. We called the front desk and complained. The other times (May and October) we never had any problems. We liked the Music Resort except we got a preferred room and it was really noisy. You could hear people at the pool until really late at night. I would suggest a room on the other side of the hotel to avoid this, but we loved the grounds of the Music. Both have food courts my kids loved.

We've stayed many times at each of the three All-Stars. Generally (but not always, of course) Music is the calmest of the three. At Sports, there always seems to be teen and pre-teen groups. And, the playing fields offer them a great place to stay loud until rather late hours. At Music, especially in the Broadway and Jazz sections, there really aren't places where the kids seem to gather and get noisy.

We stayed at ASSp-prefered room with pool view on the 2nd floor and it was not noisy at all. we were there a month ago. The last two nights was over labour day weekend and there were many kids playing sport tournaments. It was very busy in the food court our last morning(we didn't eat there except the last am)but I went down every morn to fill our mugs and It wasn't busy at all. It was very clean. We loved it.

I have not stayed at sports but I have stayed at music.
Sports has a statue of Mickey As an All Star Pitcher and the quite poolhas Mickey.

All Star Music is my favorite. It is quieter because more couples stay there. I love staying at the Clypso building. It is closer to the pool, food court and bus stop.

Here is a site with a map of All Star Sports and All Star Music.
http://www.wdwinfo.com/resortmaps/allstarmap.htm
All Star Sports is at the top.

Scroll down. All Star Music is at the bottom of the page.
The Calypso buildings at All Star Music are #1 and #10 are nearest to the food court and bus stop.
They are the preferred buildings and cost about $12 extra per night.
The Calypso pool at ASMU has Donald Duck. There is a statue of the little Mermaid by the quiet pool.

Bus rides are quite short from the ALL Stars according to PassPorter.com

All Star Buses-CBR buses---POPbuses--PO buses--- Contemporary
MK 20 min---- 20 min-----25 min------10 min---20 min(mono)
Epcot 10 min-- 15 min-----20 min------10 min---15 min
MGM 10 min----12 min-----15 min------15 min---20min
AK 10 min------20min-------15 min----15 min---20 min
DTD 15 min----20 min------20 min-----15 min---35 min

It only takes 10 minutes to get to Epcot,MGM and AK from All Stars.
MK is 20 min away. That's the same amount of time it takes on the monorail from the Contemporary.

I am 55 years old and travel several times a year. I often stay at 4 star hotels.
So the deluxe resorts do not have anything special for me.
All Star is like being in the heart of the Magic and that is where I want to be.

I have visited WDW more than a dozen times with the 1st time in Oct. 1971. It was brand new. I've stayed at FW, Disney Inn, a few the of Hotels on hotel Blvd., CBR and the towers at the Contemporary. I got to see the MK from my balcony at the Contemporary and I'm happy I got to experience it once. I just prefer the All Star Resorts.
The theming is pure Disney. :earsboy: :earsgirl:
My last 4 visits have been at The All Stars and this fall when we take dd,dsil, and our grandson age 3 we are staying at the All Stars Music. I thought about AKL and even though we can well afford AKL I just wanted Alex to experience the Disney Magic :wizard: at the All Stars on his first visit.
Where else can one find Donald Duck or Mickey Mouse at the pool?
Have a great time at Disney!
