You'll have to drive, or get a cab. The buses only go to the parks and DTD.

because some people are like my DH who turns on the tv and plops on the couch the second he gets in the room!! :confused3 I put the kibosh on that pronto. THere will be no tv-watching at Disney World (or any vacation really), lol.
If I had my way I'd unplug the tv and pretend it was broken. In fact, I just may do that next vacation. :thumbsup2

My DH is pretty similar....often we have been traveling for 8-10hrs by the time we get into the room so we flop on the bed and watch a little TV while we rest for an hour or so. After that the TV is on everyday for an hour or two....I love to watch Stacey. :rotfl: I really could careless what kind of TV is in the room though.

Hey everyone!

I'll be back at ASMu in about a week, so if there's anything that anyone wants me to pay particular attention to, or take pictures of, let me know and I'll be happy to report back!

DBF and I are staying in a regular room, not a family suite (which seemed unneccessary for 2 adults! :rotfl:) so obviously any in-room questions would be only for a regular room.

Just let me know! I'm more than happy to help! :thumbsup2

You need to take a bus to the Magic Kingdom. From there, take the ferry over to the Ticket and Transportation center. They have a van the comes an picks you up and takes you to the driving experience. When you get to the ticket and transportation center just ask a CM where it is. They will point you in the right direction. This is what we did just a couple of trips ago. The experience was quite fun. :thumbsup2

How's the food at ASMu? I printed the menus from www.allears.net so I know the types of food and the prices. I looked on the food thread, but no one seems to talk about Asmu's food. My family and I won't be eating at the resort much, but we will be eating there at least 1 to 2 times.

We've had a few good meals there. It's not over the top amazing, but we've never had anything bad either.

my family thought the pizza was gross (all over Disney tho, not just ASMU) and the pasta wasn't great either. The burgers were really good though and also the quesadillas. I loved them both.

Last year we ate there a lot. We stayed 12 days with the QSDP and only went to the parks 3 days. It was more of an R&R trip so we hung out at the pool many days.

The food was pretty good. I had the make your own salad several times and it was huge....enough for 2 people. DH had many different things and had no complaints....he's a little picky and rarely says anything better than 'it's OK'. Only once that entire trip did we eat burgers/fries...which was in DHS and that's what we actually felt like eatting.

I agree that the pizza is not good....it used to be though.

[/IMG]We just got back and we LOVED the ASMu.. It was our first visit and I was quite impressed! :lovestruc
We will be paying another visit in the future for sure!! :hippie:

Headed to ASMu this week but wanted to inquire as to the bath amenities. Is the shampoo and conditioner separate containers or is it a combo? Trying to minimize my packing as much as I can, headed to Mickey's ship after ASMu.
Thanks.

The shampoo and conditioner have been combined for as long as I can remember. I think perhaps the container has recently changed, but I believe they are still combined.

Thank you. This is our first time at a Value so wasn't sure. Looks like I'll be bring my own, hate those combos, can never get my hair feeling clean.

We are going to ASMu in 11 days! :cool1:

Can anyone tell me about the bus system, and how many resorts we will have to stop at on the way to the parks?
One place I read that ASMu did not stop anywhere else, but another site said it did stop at all 3 all star resorts...

Thanks!
Sara

Occasionally, the buses will be shared by all 3 resorts. In particular, if you are traveling at the slow time of day ie: mid day. If the buses are shared the route is sports-music-movies. So by staying at ASMu you will only have one extra stop...if it's a shared bus. More often than not you will have a dedicated bus that will go straight to the park. One advantage to this resort is that if you are leaving a park and there is a bus available to one of the other All Stars you can take it and then walk to ASMu....the walk is short.

I agree with previous poster. I have stayed at All Stars many times and have rarely had to share buses. If you are going to & coming from the parks at busy times then you will probably not have to share. If you return to your resort midday when it is less busy then you might stop at another resort, but it is no big deal - they are all close by each other. Have fun!!! :cool1:

We just got back from 4 nights at ASSp and the only bus that shared was DTD. We never saw a shared park bus, and we rode morning, evening, and midday.

Thanks for that info on the buses.

Also, I am ordering some food from garden grocer.com right now... Basically breakfast stuff. Somehow it has already skyrocketed to $90 before the fees! Do you think I should order bottled water? We are staying in a suite so do they have utensils, cups, etc?
We do have a quick service dining plan....

Thanks!
Sara

Since you already have an order going I would order bottled water. It is hot, hot at WDW & last time I was there I think it was $3.00 for one bottle of water. You could use your snack credits for water, but I like to use them on more fun things. :goodvibes

Hi Sara,

Are you flying down, or driving? If driving then I would consider buying a case of bottled water instead of ordering it through garden grocer and bring it down with you. Either way, you will definitely want to purchase the bottled water. It's probably going to be the most important item on your list. Of course, with the dining plan you will be given a refillable mug and can use it as many times as you want in the food court. It's just nice to have the extra bottles on hand in the fridge without needing to walk to the food court for a refill. Plus, it's nice to stick a cold bottle in a park bag (especially if you can place it so that you can feel it through your bag when heading out into the heat).

I've never stayed in a suite so I'm not sure about the utensils, etc. I am guessing they do have some of those items, but not sure which. Have a great trip!:goodvibes:goodvibes
