All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

All of the Calypso buildings are preferred. I have to agree with the earlier post, the Jazz buildings looked best to me in terms of location-- close but not too close the the activities at the pool. So that is what I requested for our trip June 5-12. Anyone else gonna be there then? :)

I agree with you about Jazz. We stayed there in 07' and thought it was a great location. When I booked our recent vacation I couldnt remember the jazz section and I said I think it was calypso. He said fine and made the note on there...My price does not reflect a prefered room?:confused3 hmm should I just change it to Jazz?

Can anyone tell me if there are alarm clocks in the standard rooms
I just cant remember. Thanks

Hi Gina - I am glad to see your swaps are still going strong! I had to give up after 3 fridges went missing and people started blaming me for missed swaps. Too much pressure! :scared:

Take care. :goodvibes

We stayed at the Pop 2 yrs. ago. The POP and All Star both do not have a coffee makers in their rooms. Before we left I shopped around and found a coffee maker that brewed into travel mugs. This way, I could pack it without worrying about the carafe breaking on the way down. We set it up the night before and only had a push of a button in the morning to have the smell of hot coffee filling the room. I found it to be SOOO much easier than hiking to the food court for coffee that may not taste the way you prefer. I also found it easier to pack a suitcase of breakfast bars, donuts, etc. so everyone could eat before having to shower and dress. A toaster would be easy to squeeze in a suitcase too!

I can't wait to stay at the All Star this August! :goodvibes The POP was SOOOO noisy! We had a family next door who came and went from 5am to 2am. They banged their door continuously and chain smoked on the balcony while yelling at their kid to get back to the room:headache:I love the variety of pools at the All Star too! From what I'm reading here and in guidebooks, the All Star rooms are MUCH better soundproofed.

We are staying in a perferred room this time at ASMU. I would like to know which room (number and location) is best or worst, etc. I would like to request a room and I know it's only a request and I won't always get it. Last year we stayed in building 8, Broadway. We arrive on a Wed. in late Sept.
Thanks for all the information. These boards are the best!!:goodvibes

Where did you get this coffee maker that brews into travel mugs? I'm looking for one for my mom so she can have her coffee in the morning and we can pack it in a suitcase. Do you remember? If so, what kind was it?

My mom bought one at JC Penny's a year or so about. It was not very expensive at all and it brews into two coffee mugs at the same time.

I've read through quite a bit on this thread & kept noticing that people in Jazz & Calypso were mentioning the privacy curtain between the sink area & room. Do all of the rooms @ ASMu have the curtain? We're currently booked @ Pop & are thinking about switching. Thanks!:goodvibes

No, only Calypso and Jazz.

Think twice about switching to ASMU from Pop. We have stayed in both. In March we stayed in the family suite at ASMU and last year we had two rooms at POP. We all liked POP much better. The food court was our main reason. Plus the busses. It made my husband nuts when we had to wait for buses and then go to the other AS resorts.

Really?!? :scared1: Now I'm a little scared! We love Pop, but we were thinking about doing something different & even considered spending the extra to upgrade to CBR, but I'd rather spend that money on other things like the MNSSHP. :thumbsup2 I wasn't thrilled at what I was hearing from ASMo, but ASMu seemed better since the rooms have been remodeled. Now, I really need some feedback from people that have stayed at Pop & ASMu. Please help!!!:confused3
