All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

So does anyone have an update on the construction? It was supposed to be 14 days long starting on the 11th. Should be done by the begining of next week. Just wondering if anyone just got back with a progress report. We are leaving a week from Sunday....hoping they are done by then!

I read conflicting information regarding the end date. I read that it should take 2 weeks and I also read that they would be finished on 9/12. I hope that the 2 weeks information is correct.

If anyone else just returning can update us about the rehab work, we'd appreciate it! :)

The September 12th date came from a notice left in the room at the start of the rehab and the two week timeframe came from a CM.:confused3. I don't know any more than that. Good luck!

So is there individual Shampoo, conditioner and soap that they replenish daily or is it from a dispenser in the shower?

The dispensers were taken out of all of the All Star rooms....Movies , Music & Sports the summer of 2005.

Here is a photo of the shampoo, soap and hair dryer taken in our Calypso room at All Star Music in Sept. 2006:

Just got back yesterday. We stayed in the Broadway section.
The food court rehab was still going on. When we arrived on the 16th, the arcade and part of the beverage station was blocked off. Thursday there was a tent set up over the outside eating area and the arcade was open and the hallway and the seating by the hallway was blocked so you could not walk through the building. From the bus stops you had to walk around the building.
There was a hair dryer in the room as well as an iron and ironing board. We received new soap and shampoo every day.
We didn't have a privacy curtain.
I'd be happy to answer any questions

Thank you for the food court update. It sounds like a pretty invasive-type-of-rehab if you couldn't walk through the building from the bus stop.

Other than the food court/arcade chaos, did you enjoy your stay? I hope that you had a good trip. We're counting down the days........10 more to go! :woohoo:

We had a wonderful time! Loved the resort. They have some of the most friendly staff in the "world"!

Can someone update about the refurbing being done?

We go in about 45 days and just switched to Music for the fall discount... had no idea there were rehabs happening. Would hate to get there and have construction. We got stuck in the major main pool rehab of 2006 at Movies and don't want to duplicate that experience... :)

I believe they are just working on the food court and are scheduled to be done by mid Sept (the latest).. We're going in 9 days:banana:

Hi everyone. New to the boards. Me & my family stayed at ASMu in June, we absolutely loved it. We don't have a lot to compare it to because it was my family's first trip and my first on site stay. The staff was great. Was left towel animals twice. My husband is completely addicted to the mouse now, so were heading back in June of 09. We decided to stay at either POP or Coronado Springs, and I will definately miss staying at ASMu. If anyone has any questions about it I will do my best to help them out!

Someone mentioned in one of the above posts about H2O products...well when we were there the shampoo was in little blue bottles with a Mickey head on it but the back of it in smaller letters said H2O and had all the info on it.

We have a standard room booked at Music...I see Calypso is preferred and that Jazz is next closest, but what building s are the farthest? Not that I want ot be there, but I want to know what the layout is like and I can't get any pictures to download right now. Slow computer!

Country Fair was the furthest.
