All Star Music FAQ thread and tips

Thanks so much for the photos! I can hardly wait until our Christmas Trip. The photos reinforce that I've chosen the best value for us. Don't get me wrong - I would love to stay at a deluxe one day - but ASMu really looks great! I love that there are so many trees around.

Now if only it were a shorter drive there . . .

I am thinking maybe they did not put them at Broadway for some reason.
I hope they put them in the near future.

I agree with a pp that it does not sence to have them in some buildings and not in others.

Anyone stay in a refurbished room at ASMu this year in a building other than Broadway and not have a privacy curtain?

Privacy curtain? Do you mean like between the sink area and the rest of the room? If so then no, there wasn't any or any evidence thereof in our room in the Country Fair building in September.

Do you know the correct address to the All-Star Music? Travelocity said to me that is not a correct address to the All-Star Music! Please! Help Me! Please tell me the correct address to the All-Star Music!

If you have a confirmation paper from your reservation the address should be on the back.

I'm fairly new here but, I have a question...I'll be at the ASM December 1-7...I have a 3 year old and a 23 year old whom both LOVE the pool...Does anyone know if at this time of year they would be able to use the pools, or will it be too cool to go? Does anyone know what kind of weather it is that time of year in Florida? Thanks in advance!!

I can never remember how to post links but it looked like avg high was @ 73 in December. If you have a weather option online you can change the town to Orlando & get avg temps for the whole yr. Try weatherchannel.com

I can tell you that December 3-10, 2006 was below average. The high each day might have reached 50 and the lows were in the upper 20's, so be prepared.

I don't trust Weather Channel too much, they said it would rain the whole week and while it was cloudy, it never rained. Try NOAA.gov for a more accurate picture.

I've been that week 3 times. Twice it was very warm and never needed more than T's even at night but the other time it was cool during the days and 30's at night. You have to be prepared for anything.

Does anyone know if channel 96 (the one with classic Disney cartoons) works at All Star Music?

When i check-in at the all-star music they have a television in the lobby so the family can check in!

I was told the pools are heated to 82 degrees. Having grown up with an inground pool- we used to swim in October when it was really cold outside. (Cleveland, OH) The pool would have massive amounts of steam coming off of it. I'm talking 45 out :)

Granted, you might not want your 3yo dealing with these temps but IMO- 82 is plenty warm to hop in for awhile and then hop out, run to your room and warm up. The cold temps were always part of the fun growing up.

I think they do right in the middle of the lobby and there are benches to ! I believe there was a tv anyway! I know POP century definitely had one because it was a lil room off to the side where asmu's was right in the lobby! I thinking thats what it was i didnt pay much attention to the lobby sorry.

yes they have a small tv with benches- its on the wall opposite the check in but next to the customer service people

I love the classic cartoons. I wish that they'd air them on The Disney Channel.

My dd has a good question about All Star Music. What type of music do they play in the lobby, food court, and pool areas? :rockband: Do they play a little bit of each type of music to go with the themes (Calypso, Jazz, Broadway, etc.) of the buildings?
