Any comments on All-Star Movies Resort? We have been to All-Star Music. How do they compare?
Thanks for any info.

The food court and rooms are pretty much the same. The only difference is the decor around the resort. I would put movies as my favorite all star resort, simply because I love the movies, as do my kids. The pool area with Mickey is great. The rooms are clean, and no other problems. I hated the sports, but music is good too. You will enjoy the resort.

We just got back from movies. I've never stayed at an All Star before, so I haven othing to compare it to. We had a wonderful stay. The theming was perfect for kids. It had a nice little kid pool and the Mickey pool was also fun. The rooms were what we expected...on the tiny side, but basically what we are used to in hotels. I think it is basically designed in the same way as the other All Star resorts.

Have fun!

I am also staying at the ASMo this July with my DH and our 4 yr old DD who is a big Buzz fan. Are there any suggestions on room location in the Toy Story Building? Are some room locations better than others? I was thinking I would like a third floor room. Any comments or suggestions?

we stayed at the movies last summer. we got the Dalm. bldg. it was great. we loved it there. we have also stayed at the Music 4 times, which we like it tol. i loved the pool at the movies , seemed like more swimming area away from little ones- lol. foold court seemed a little slower than the music, but it was still good. we love the all stars. you will enjoy .

We have stayed at all of them. They are pretty much the same. The key is to get a building close to the main bldg so there is not a big hike to the busses, pool area, and food court. We do not spend much time at the hotel so we do not pay the extra money. Remember that you are on vacation and enjoy it.

Often, (but not always) Movies will have it's own bus when you depart the parks, while music and sports will share one. At least this was true 2 years ago. Dalmations is the building we always requested.

I think it's a great resort, the best of the All-Stars. I've stayed there 4 times over the years and just love it.

During my last trip there in September I ended up in the one section I thought I would never want to stay in, the Mighty Ducks. It seemed as if it would be far away from everything. I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the walk to the main building less than 5 minutes, but we were actually right next to the AS Music bus stop. So at park closing we had two options to getting back to the resort. We could take the Movies OR Music bus.

You'll have a great time there, and won't break the bank in the process. Enjoy!!

We have stayed at Music and Movies. As for room size, food court....they are pretty much the same. We also received excellent service at both resorts. But when it comes to theming, we prefer Movies.

I've stayed in the Jazz section of Music (nearest after preferred Calypso). We stayed in Dalmations at Movies the last trip. 3rd floor, room 1957. Faced the courtyard, so there was foot-traffic way into the night (going on down to Mighty Ducks). Dalmations is good because you're right in the middle of both pools, and my DD pool-hops. I'm staying at Sports next week and have requested a 3rd floor, Football section, but on the rear side for quiet. I was told that kids and adults alike play football on the "field" until all hours. From the way it looks on the map, Football is next-nearest to the main building (and sometimes closer than some preferred rooms) and is between the surfs up pool and the baseball pool. Sounds perfect to me! Melanie
p.s. - Toy Story courtyard theming is so cute! ASMo has to be the "most Disney" of any resort down there.

We're staying at ASMo also - and have requested Toy Story Building - for my 4 yo grandson. I didn't think about requesting a certain "section" of the building - only requested the building itself.

Any preferences with floors, sections, etc?

We've stayed in the All Star Movies three times, and we'll be back in July!!! Its absolutely my youngest DDs favorite hotel (when we stayed at the Grand Floridian, she kept asking to go to Movies)!

We stayed in the Love Bug section the first visit, and it is a very short walk to the food court/bus stop. Our room was very quiet too!

Our other two visits, we had 101 Dalmations and its a great location! (And, we're hoping for 101 Dalmations again in July!!)
Its a very short walk to the food court/bus stop, and again, our room was very quiet (the room wasn't on the main walking path, so I guess that helps with noise).

We've always had great bus service at the All Stars. The food court is good, and on one of the visits, we did have them deliver pizza to the room. It was pretty good!! There's also a nice gift shop too!

Enjoy your stay!!!!

We have stayed at both Movies and Music. As other people have said, the rooms and food courts are bsically the same, mostly it depends on your theme preference. Our kids perferred the theming at Movies.

At Movies we stayed at Toy Story section - 2nd fl, courtyard view. A second or third floor is preferable for less foot traffic noise. A courtyard view offers a view of the characters, otherwise you may get a parking lot or woods view. I do not remember if we had to pay extra for the courtyard view.

At Music we were in the Jazz building, 2nd fl, garden view. This was very peaceful, and fairly quiet. I believe a courtyard view at this building would have been noisy, as it is just 1 building down from the pool.

Movies has a cute shooting waters area in front of the Love Bug building - the kids loved running through the sprinklers - also has a "race" car on the walkway between Toy Story and the food court - which all the kids jumped into to get a picture. We did not find similar things at Music.

We (my wife and I) like the kiddie pool better at Music because it had nothing around it - you never lost sight of your kids. Movies had some "rocks" and an animal (maybe a whale??) that the little ones would hide behind out of sight.

We have requested Toy Story building - my 4 yo grandson loves Buzz. I was just wondering if we should stretch it and try and request a specific area within Toy Story. Now I at least know what to "ask" for when we get there.

We have 2 rooms and need connecting rooms - that is the most important. They can't guarantee it - cuz we have 3 adults (me, DH, DD 22), 1 teen (DD 17) and 1 child (DGS 4) - but put it down on our request. I tried to explain to the CM that it would be me, DH, DD17 in one room and DD 22 and her son (my grandson) 4 in the other......but said they couldn't guarantee it - cuz they had to save that for families with 2 adults and 3 kids. Oh well, keeping my fingers crossed.

We stayed at ASMu about 8-9 years ago - Calypso building - and loved it. LOVED the theming. Partial stay at Dolphin (for dance convention) - then moved to ASMu. I actually preferred ASMu. Call me crazy.;)

Grammagail - Yes, the pizza delivery is like room service. There was a special - pizza, salad, and two cokes and it was about $25. I don't remember having a "delivery fee" added, and we tipped the delivery guy.

It was really nice - we had gotten back from the park late one night and no one felt like waiting for food. We went back to the room, ordered our pizza, I was able to get the kids bathed, and the pizza was there!
