All-Star Movies

We are staying at All-Star Movies and our daughter's family is also staying there. We would like to have connecting/joined rooms. We have requested it through regular reservations but I'm wondering if that is enough. Should I also call the resort directly to ask for this?

There is no way to call the resort directly. All resort numbers found online route to a Central Call Center. As long as the request is noted on both reservations, there's nothing more you need to do.

Just to clarify so you actually requested what you want. In Disney Speak:

Adjoining = Rooms near each other.
Connecting = Rooms right next to one another with an interior door that connects them.

And it isn't guaranteed, only a request.

We have traveled with others to same resort and ended up not as close as we hoped, it's never been an issue.

the first time we travelled with our kids and grand kids we really wanted connecting rooms. Now, we have experienced connecting and not connecting rooms, we are fine with rooms that do NOT connect.

THIS!!! It is nice to be near, but it is very nice to have that space apart. If you have a connecting door, it is hard to not hurt feelings when you just want to slam it shut after being with everyone ALL day in the heat, lol. Next door or a few doors down is quite nice.
