I guess its worth it just to make sure you are guraranteed to be close to the main lobby and the food court. When we went in December I requested the Toy Story building knowing that I might not get it but I'm glad we did because it was close to the lobby and food court and it wasn't considered a preferred building. But like I said just to make sure you are close to the lobby and food court and also the pools, then I guess it would be worth it to pay a little extra.
depends on if you want a "guarantee" of being close to cinema hall. We did this on our first trip there last year. And it was fine. This time we're booking a standard room and requesting either toy story or dalmation building. They are both pretty close and this year we could stand to save extra penny!
If you intend on spending alot of time at the resort and going back and fort to your room, it is definitely worth it.
If you spend all your days in the parks, book standard and take the money to buy something nice. We booked preferred last time, it was o.k. but will not do it again. Not worth the time I spend at the resort.
i stayed at ASMovies in 2004 i got the perfered building and i was very glad i did when you are walking all day with in my case kids then 6 and 9 we were all tired at the end of the day and loved being close also many other times i needed somthing in the main building and it was nice to be nice close. the playground is right behind the building witch was nice. although i would add a suggestion to your resevation if you can ask to be placed on the side of the building away from the pool. it does get a little noisey. i will be staying at pop next and will deffenitly be getting the perfered room. hope that helps have a great trip
For me it's not worth it cause we prefer courtyard views. Now if preferred meant Courtyard View of Fantasia, then yes I would pay the extra, but since you can also get a room overlooking the parking lot, the extra is not worth it.
We usually end up with courtyard view of Mighty Ducks. It is a long way from the Movies Food Court, etc., but it is very close to the Music Food Court, bus stop.
We didn't get a preferred room, we stayed in the Toy Story section, and it was perfect for us. It was not a far walk to anything, even though we were on the far end of the back side of Buzz building. I haven't requested a preferred room at Pop for this year either.
