I stayed at All-star Movies the first week in June, and I was pleasantly surprised. As some other people already stated, the bus service was great. There was only one time I had to wait 15 minutes for a bus, every other time they were there within 10 minutes. The food court there is really nice. There is pretty much something for everyone. The cheesburgers that my wife & I got there are some of the best that we have had for a long time. We stayed in the Mighty Ducks section (I'm a big hockey nut), and though it is a longer walk to the main building, the walk was not long at all. I considered it a morning warm-up before walking all of those miles in the parks. As for the pools, I only went in the Mighty Ducks pool. Fantasia always seemed fairly crowded, but the Mighty Ducks pool would be relatively quiet in the evenings. The scoreboard next to the pool doubles as a clock, so nobody needs to worry about bringing a watch down to the pool.
I'm guessing the biggest tip I could give you is to give yourself reasonable expectations about the resort. It's called a "Value Resort" for a reason. I'm not knocking the Resort in any way, but don't expect the services that come with the price of a deluxe hotel. My wife & I arrived with our expectations (this was our first time staying on Disney property, and we had done our research), and All-Star movies exceeded every one of them. I hope you have a great stay!
