Yes. I frequently take breaks in the afternoon. To beat the heat, if nothing else. I do this for every park. Don't think because AK is the closest, it is the only park this is feasible at. Taking a break from any park, especially from the All Star area is very feasible.

I take an afternoon break each day as well. I arrive before opening, usually leave by 2pm at the latest and arrive back to a park around 6 to close down that park. From 2-6 is when lines are at their longest. When I leave park around 2, I get a FP for the evening park for around 6 and can usually get a nice headliner FP for around that time. Once the bus is under way, the ride to AK is about 10 minutes.

Keep in mind if you're staying in Mighty Ducks section of Movies, you'll be closer to the bus stop for Music. So, when you return mid-day, you'll want to get off and walk from Music. Well, really anytime, not just mid-day.
