Next summer we will be planning to spend a Sunday thru Thursday at SSR. We are considering going down on Friday and spending Friday and Saturday at AllStar, and pay with cash. What kind of problems might we run into (transferring lugaage, etc) if we decide to do this?

If all goes as planned, I don't think you'd have any problems.

WDW will transfer your luggage for you, if you wish. You will have to check-in twice. There's a good chance you won't have any room for several hours (between 11am check-out time and 3pm check-in time.)

You might have trouble if you plan on getting the Unlimited Park Hopper as your ticket media.

If you have any perishables from your room at SSR, you will probably have to dispose of them.

Other than that, it should be smooth sailing. :)

We did want to get the UPHs. Could we stop by SSR, and buy the UPs with our DVC discount, then check into SSR later? Even though we aren't starting at SSR we will still be on the property? Suggestions please-thanks!

Madhatter266:

I would swear that someone has posted details on spreading the UPH over two resort stays. Hopefully someone will read this that can help further. If not, you could try posting on the Theme Parks board. Whatever response you get should be relevant to both DVC and non-DVC split resort stays.

I'm assuming you are now DVC members. If so, have you given any consideration to Annual Passes? APs will give you unlimited admission for an entire year. Even if you only plan annual trips, you can stagger those trips to get two vacations (two years) on a single set of APs. In other words, if you're going the first week of July 2005, take your 2006 trip by the end of June and you'll get both vacations under the one set of APs. Then you let your APs lapse and get a new set for your 2007/08 trips.

The breakeven point for the standard APs (which provide unlimited admission to the 4 main theme parks) is about 8 days. The Premium Annual Pass (which is basically a 365-day UPH) is about $130 more, but it will still end up being quite a bit cheaper than buying an 8-day UPH for two years in a row.

Good luck.
