I called to confirm my adr's for 8/15-23
They were all set but I wanted to move up Chef Mickey's to an earlier time.
What did the cm tell me ?
There are NO reservation for any meal the entire time we are there ! all gone

caput ! finished ! :scared1:

How crowded will it be in the parks ? I know the POFQ is sold out . That is where we will be
This is our first time during peak sason. we usually go in Oct or December but DD has to have major surgery in the fall :sad2:
So we are getting the trip in now.
I hope all the non planners are not hungry

I think the parks will be crowded, but not as crowded as they were (or will be) in late June, July or the first half of August. It willb e more crowded than October or early December and much less crowded than the December Holiday week.

I'm not surprised that the TS restaurants are full for your dates - it's free dining time. Those who don't plan ahead get to eat during off peak or perhaps at the resorts or one of the "temporary" places Disney sets up if there are too many diners for the available TS restaurants to handle.

P.S. the "temporary" TS restaurant place I'm thinking of the buffet place set up between Tomorrowland and Main Street during last year's free dining period.

If you keep trying a couple times a day or more you just may find that a time slot will open up! (If you have the time to)

This happened to us... we will be there in Sept. and wanted an early time for Akershu Princess breakfast, 3rd day trying and we got an opening!

Good Luck and Have a Great Trip!:wizard:

Dont forget youre looking for the 2nd most popular restaurant less then 3 weeks away

Doesn't the UK free dining offer start earlier in August than the future stay/general public one? That, combined with yes, the popularity of Chef Mickey's, might have a major effect on there being no reservations.

OP, you could go to Chef Mickey's early on the day you want your reservation. We've done this several times at different restaurants when we decide we're hungry. There were only 2 x we weren't able to get an earlier reservation or even an immediate seating.

We are going 8/22 to 8/24 and I have been able to move my Poly ressie from Garden view to Lagoon view to Castle View without any problems, the last move was just 2 weeks ago.

I have been messing around with my dining reservations too, got CP for dinner at 6pm just the other day and added a Boma breakfast without any problem

I hope it isnt going to be that busy!

Keep calling---we'll be there during 'free dining' and when I first made my ADR's I wasn't able to get a table at Le Cellier or Coral Reef. This past week I tried again and was able to get in on both-Ü Don't give up--keep trying.

This is our first time to WDW, so please forgive my ignorance, but what is this free dining everyone's talking about? I will be there with the fam from 8/20-8/26.

There was a promotion that included Free Dining meaning the Dining Plan. It begins August 24. However don't feel bad, you would not have qualified with your dates. You need to have a 3 night minimum stay. I originally had it for my August 23-27 trip (the first night at a room only rate, the Free Dining Package kicking in August 24-27). However I had to change my dates and needed to go August 21-26. I therefore lost Free Dining because August 24-26 would have only given me 2 nights, not the 3 night minimum required. So don't feel so bad for not being aware of it!

Free Dining was a promotion that Disney offered for trips booked between April 10th and June 22nd for people travelling between August 24th and September 21 (or so). It is a great deal which is often offered for this time of year and involves receiving the Disney Dining Plan for free when you book a vacation package with a Disney resort. In your case you are arriving too early to take advantage of the deal.

More recently, Disney offered room discounts for around this period.

To take advantage of these kinds of deals you need to either keep your eyes on sites like Disboards or Mousesavers or get yourself a good travel agent who specializes in Disney trips.

We just surprised ourselves with a last minute trip from 8/23-8/25 due to purchasing airline tickets for $9.00 for all 3 of us RT. So now we're going and got an ADR for LTT for 1:05 on 8/24/08, but we really wanted CM. This restaurant is booked solid thanks to free dining. Anyhoo, best of luck finding a Value resort during free dining and any ADR's during the duration of free dining.

I saw online the free dining promotion but when I went to book an All-Star resort, they were all full. All that was available was the Fort Wilderness Cabins and it was going to cost more money. Then, about three days later, I received in the mail a special promotion from WDW. When I called in with the code, they called me by name (I was surprised) and explained the special promotion. We could stay at any of the All-Star Resorts for $58 a night. Three days earlier they were all booked up but now we got in at an All-Star Resort for the dates that we wanted. I couldn't believe it. We were also eligible to get the whole Magical Express and free transportation and the whole bit. I had to buy the Disney Dining Plan separately with the promotion. I still think that we got one heck of a deal. The only cheaper place I found was at Motel 6 for $38 a night and then we would have had to drive to the resort every day. When I got the promotion in the mail with the special code, all of a sudden we could book at the All Star Resorts. They must keep certain rooms set aside for the different promotions. Make sense.

The free dine availability is differant then the pincode/discount code availibility

It will be hot.
It will be crowded.
You'll still be at WDW.
You still have an ADR at Chef Mickey's.
Mickey will hug you.
Wishes will bring a tear to your eye.
It will still be Magical!

That is the last week of summer for many schools so families are getting in those final vacations. I grew up on the east coast so going to school before Labor Day just doesn't make sense for me. :confused3

Keep trying people over book simply because they can't make up their mind. Be sure to try within a week and even after you arrive by calling from your room.

I'm confused...you say you had ADR's and now they are gone. Don't you have the ADR numbers? I would ask to speak to a manager if they lost all of your ADRs. I mean if you have the restaurant, date, time, and ADR # they should be able to find them for you.
