Hi All- I've become pretty good at finding great rates from the people on these boards. Now that we are looking to book our first cruise, I could use a little help. I asked for an online quote from Dreams Unlimited for the 7 night Western cruise departing on 1-17-04, Cat 6 stateroom. Dreams quoted me 4185.00 including taxes and port charges, and with their 150.00 discount. I saw a link on another post for All Seasons Travel, and was quoted 3575.00 including taxes and port charges. A savings of 610.00. Has anyone had any dealing with All Seasons and any info in general would be appreciated. Thanks
Sandra

I posted yesterday (maybe day before) on this topic. I, too, have a much better rate from All Seasons than from anyone else. At this point I feel comfortable that they are a reputable company. Not sure how they are so much cheaper, but after 7-8 quotes from other companies they are hundreds of dollars less. I have booked for spring, 2004.

Well since I just made my deposit I had to check it out--and according to the All Seasons website, I would pay $6779 (this is for 2 category 10 rooms, one with 3 people and one with 2 people for our family of 5). I am paying DU $6678, so it must be a case by case thing since I am still saving $$. I'm still paying through the nose!:p I sure hope all of you guys are right and it's worth it!;)

Does anyone know of any other sites worth checking out for possibly better rates or discounts. Thanks
Sandra

Hi All

I would like to invite anyone who receives a cheaper rate on a cruise after getting a quote from Dreams Unlimited to please email the Dreams agent who quoted you about this. You should be able to find their email address right on the quote.

Sometimes a price difference such as this could be due to a difference in how the reservation was quoted/requested between the two companies. It would be great if you could give DU a chance to see if they could at least match the price - especially since they have already provided you with a quote.

It may not be possible, but it's always worth a try.

Thanks for considering this.

Hi, John: I did exactly this. I requested a quote for May, 2004 from Dreams Unlimited. Just after, I realized that March would work better for us and got a great quote (online and verified by phone) fro All Seasons Travel. When my quote came from DU, I sent back a message with the specifics of the date, category, travelers ages, and rate given. That was on February 21st and I have yet to receive any response from DU. I have since booked with All Seasons. Just FYI.
:D

I can highly recommend All Seasons! We have booked directly thru DCL in the past and this time went with All Seasons and saved!

Hi FredS

I am sorry to hear that no one responded to your email.

If you would like to email me further about this I would be happy to dialogue about it with you. If not, that's OK too.

I'm glad your cruise is booked - now you can start the fun part - planning and anticipating!!

I got a quote from AAA for the 11/29 Eastern Cruise that was $300 less than All Seasons for a Cat 6. All the other quotes were at least $800 above AAA. Free towing if the ship gets stuck and free mugs for all. Easy decision.

Hi John,

Not sure if this is an OK post, please feel free to delete without offense if this is not the place. I also was quoted a rate by allseastravel which was approximately $600 cheaper (March sailing, category 6 cabin). The agent from Dreams Unlimited was very friendly and quick to respond but basically told me if I could really get this rate to go for it as he couldn't come close. I have heard so many wonderful things about the customer service at DU and would love to deal with you, but $600 is a lot of money! :) It seems like this mostly comes up on early bookings, as your pricing is very competitive for later sailings and against other agencies. They do have rates listed right on their website for comparison... if there is a way for them to get these rates maybe there is a way for Dreams to do it too?

Hi John- The Dreams agent that e-mailed me my quote yesterday was Tammy and I do plan on e-mailing her tomorrow to make her aware of the price difference and see if there is a difference in my request between the two TA's. Although a price difference of 610.00 would definately make me book with the cheaper agent, I would give Dreamsunlimited the benefit of an e-mail and a chance to explain the difference. The DIS boards have saved me alot of money and I try to use the sponsors whenever possible. Prices being equal, I'd book with DreamsUnlimited because of their affiliation with these boards, If another company can offer much better prices for the same service then we'd be fools not to take them up on it. In my case the difference is enough for a R/T in a towncar from MCO, a hotel near the port, dinner for 4 and then some.

MelissaE1 - I appreciate your emailing the agent who originally provided you with your quote. There very well may have been nothing he could have done about price but at least you gave him a chance and that is very fair of you. From your post it sounded as if the agent may have been a little 'flip' in his answer to you. Please let me know if this was indeed the case so that I can address it.

Mark & Sandra - Thank you for taking the time to do this. Yes, I completely understand that price is a major factor in booking your cruise and saving a great deal of money is important. We work very hard to try to save all our clients as much money as possible so I agree with you whole heartedly. I would not blame you in the least with going with the lower quote, regardless of how it was booked.

Again, if anyone would like to email me directly on this I would be happy to chat with you further - john@dreamsunlimitedtravel.com

Thanks
John

Wow, I checked that site and the rates they have listed for May 8th when I am going for 4 people catagory 6 is 3815...thats is 1,000 less than I am paying now with DU.

I didn't mean for it to sound that way, in actuality he was not flip at all but very nice, in keeping with the good things I've heard about DU's great customer service. The agent was Rob, and he just explained how his pricing was structured and said the other rate was great and he recommended I take it as he did not currently have access to it. He was so nice that I intend to follow Dreams' pricing in the future and if it is close to other quotes I plan on using your agency for my trip. :)

John...interesting comments. Last November when I was trying to book, I asked that very question and was basically told that No, the DU price is the price. No negotiating. That was fine because I know how hard the agents work. I hated not using your company, but the price difference was just too great to justify. Has the policy changed?:D

I checked the All Seasons site and my price from DU is still $215 cheaper with my on board credit and rebate. The initial price from DU is $3600 for a category 6 and at All Seasons it's $3615.

Like it was said before, maybe not the case for each cruise that All Seasons is cheaper.

But it doesn't hurt to look.

Thank-you for the link. The price listed for my sailing date of March 20, 2004, is the same I have through DU already. I did reserve months ago though, to get that price. Allseastravel looks like a good option for those planning just a bit later. DU has been great but for $600 I had to check, lol.
